  1. I'm keen, 6th would be easier for me than the 15th, but doesn't look like too many people are keen either way and the weather looks a bit crap. Maybe start a new topic for the 15th to generate more interest, as people might have given up looking at this thread now?
  2. Lazy Karts this Sunday or the next and perhaps a beer afterwards as per last time? Doesn't need to be anything huge, but that might be easier than organising an evening thing where only a few people turn up anyway.
  3. Chuck the details in here mate, in the format shown. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/forum/36-freight-services/
  4. Gutted have been hanging out for this. Keen to get back out on that track with a few other karts.
  5. It probably would have been like an NZFMR F1 display where they run the car at half throttle and with a couple of F5000 cars that drown it out anyway. I shouldn't complain though, still a great site to see an old F1 car out on track even if it isn't at full song.
  6. wat?Won't be able to make it tonight. Damn these months are going mighty fast!
  7. So many cool/lol things in that video, even though I only watched 5 minutes of it. Will watch it in depth tomorrow. That Corolla did a typically fail ST start, full of wheel spin and white smoke. And that RX7's overtake was hilarious. Pull back in to a tight line right after passing someone on the outside. Well done.
  8. There was a real cool one where you could model it all up and then it would break it down into the most simple set of pipes to construct it and also give the lengths angles etc for cutting the pipes
  9. Only trick with ABS that I'm aware of is instead of starting furtherest away from master, make it furtherest away from ABS unit. In a VR Commodore it appears to be next to the master so it shouldn't make any difference (start at left rear), but some cars have them across the LHS of the engine bay in which case you would start on the right rear.
  10. Perhaps it's easier to sell it than try and make it hold the smoke in?
  11. I wanted to make an extension with no play that would move the steering wheel back quite a way. This is the existing spline that the steering boss fits to. This shaft was drilled and threaded to suit the above. The above spline also had a slot notched into it at 90 degrees to ensure it won't be able to turn and un-wind itself. Then a spline was put on the end of the shaft for a removable steering wheel boss kit. It was rediculously cheap through a local engineer. I can't remember exactly, but something around the $100 mark including materials.
  12. I did exactly that for my steering extension, just at the opposite end. I'll get a photo for you.
  13. Are they standard Gemini springs? I would say they would lift the Chevette up quite a bit and you may even have trouble getting them into the front wishbones in full length. Probably best to hunt out a set of lowering springs for it. Torana super lows fit the front and make it quite low, and in the back Gemini wagon springs will work, but you might want to take a little bit off them and run shorter shocks to keep them captive.
  14. I don't think it is just oldschool. Other clubs that I know of (and one I participated in 4 and rotary nationals with) also fell into the same trap. This event seems to just be a money making business like anything else, and regardless of how many "spots" you purchase for the event, you get what you are given and have to make do with that. It is not a great culture or atmosphere at the event either, and while it was good to promote oldschool (and even get a couple of awards), we have been burnt by these events and wouldn't encourage other regions to bother supporting them.
  15. Fuck yeah, that was SO awesome. We'll do the joint venture a.s.a.p. I reckon, now that the rest of us have a slight advantage having been on them already There were showers, thunder, rain and sun, but we managed to have 2 x 10min runs on a relatively dry track. The 2 engine karts are heaps of fun, but no so much when one of the engines cuts out as Keegan found out.
  16. Rain and heavy hail periods sounds dumb. Will it be canned if the weathers too crap? edit: just saw facebook - all go if its raining just wets and skids
  17. Success! Very rarely do people photoshop a car and then actually make it better than the PS
  18. I'm in. Will confirm on FB and maybe invite a couple of others if thats possible on there.
  19. Cool, let us know what the plan is. Earlier the better (within reason) for me, we have to head up to Coromandel for a birthday that arvo.
  20. Appears to be $35 for 10min, $60 for 20min. Are non-forum members welcome to make up numbers?
  21. Swooon! Not a bad price too and being 2 piece they might not cost too much to bring in.
  22. It's cool that you are sticking with the shell rather than trying to find another starlet to reshell, but man that looks like a hell of a lot of work in front of you. Good luck and I look forward to seeing the progress.
