  1. Just spent a day on Norfolk Island. Holy shit, that place is Kei truck mecca. Every 3rd vehicle was a Kei truck of some sort. Amazing. Also, couple of tidy 1200 utes (unrelated, but cool)

  2. Anyone have any experience with the late 2000's Kia Sorento's? I'm considering one as a replacement tow wagon, aparently decent diesel donk, separate chassis, good towing capacity hi/low 4wd and seemingly reliable. Seems like a bit of an under-appreciated 4x4 for "ok" money.

NB: if i'm not wrong, please don't be K11ing these till I get one lol

the seat in my kzn165 has adjusters in the back and the seat base. im fine when after driving 600km in one day. mayb look into getting one of those

Would need to modify the rails to suit. Not worth the effort/expense of finding, buying, certing etc. loads of super comfy seats that would probably fit, but none that are a bolt in (and seats don't bolt on/off the rails, making it even more of a PITA)

I know the feeling,  surfs/hilux of that era always feel like the cab is slightly too short or the floor is too high?

Exactly this. I may have a long torso... fuck knows. Something's definitely fucky. Adjusted all the things that can be adjusted. Just... Don't fit right... Think I ran a red light today, didn't notice except saw all the folk on the other side stopped. Seeing "up" is a problem lol. Whoops

Lack of headroom? How tall are you? I'm 6'5 and have no headroom issues in ours.

    *sigh.. Totp fail.

LOL quite ok. Not so much headroom as much as to have the seat in a position where my back only gets slightly crippled i have to bend my head over, or forwards to see out the windscreen. Seat base has to be wound most of the way up. Still fucks my back after only a short time driving. I'm only 6'3" but something about the position/seat/something just destroys me. I'm going to be driving decent distances for the forseeable future towing a caravan. So, need to get something that works better. I'm gutted because it's bloody superb other than that, plus I spent a bunch of cash getting it all set up nice and reliable. Plus, I did dig the off road aspect. However, I don't imagine doing so much off road with the current plans. Will get something capable again when land is purchased and I have a permanent base. Needs must :(

So, churned out about 5000kms in the old girl over the last few weeks. She was flawless.

So, lack of headroom and being too fat for the seat means it's time to sell this thing and replace with something less cool, but more suited to my giagantism.

Anyone keen to purchase? No clue what it's worth, trade in seems around the 5k mark, insurance valuation 9.5k. Make an offer somewhere inbetween?

    400 odd kms

Brand new Dunlop AT's all round (x5)

    Fresh cambelt

    Fresh Wof/reg

Bluetooth and whatnot. Basically, all the things, all of which work brilliantly.

  7. This is 100% going to be the plan. Fortunately, once I leave I will have zero schedule, just roll where the wind takes me :)

Lumbar support procured, seems to have made a massive difference.

Upholstery man was tops, said the seat was in good condition and there wasn't much point him charging me to do minor reshape, also suggested more frequent stops and a lumbar cushion thing. I was very appreciative, he could easily have scammed some cash out of me. A++. As usual, OS.NG delivering the goods faster than anyone else since ages ago :D

Does your have the lumbar support feature? Think it's a lever on the lefthand side..

Yeah, but it's super low, like below my butt. If it was in the correct location it would probably help considerably. Will have to have a word with upholstery man about some mods. Everyone I've spoken to says nothing is a bolt in, so will have to work with what I have or sell and replace the truck. Would prefer not to though if I can help it, she'll hit a million kms for sure:compress:

    Except.

The drivers seat, which appears to have crippled me! Lower back, left side, completely fucked. Constant pain. I'm gonna swing by an auto upholsterer man tomorrow to see if he can do anything to fix/upgrade/something the current drivers seat.

However, if anyone knows what seat might be a bolt in replacement (can't really be fucked with cert for aftermarket seat and rails). I'd be all ears. I don't think the factory recaro option will really work for me, I'm currently a fatass, really just want something that will not cripple me after a few hours driving.

  10. Random question of the day. Anyone know what (comfortable) seats are a bolt in replacement for my snurf? Driver's seat is a bit blergh. Mostly because it's a bit worn, but could do with being a bit nicer/wider for my fatass. Bit of extra low wouldn't go amiss either but I'd be happy with something a bit better all round
