  1. I've been searching for a older car in the Vancouver area for a while. Problem with so many, even cars in the 90's here is terrible rust. Let alone a car from the 70's or 80's. I'd been looking into a few 1st generation rx7's, but being so small they wouldnt of been very practical at all. I still want to do some fairly long distance road trips during the summer months here. Ended up finding this maxima, body wise it's great, a few little electrical issues, but the motor and transmission both seem really too. Just under 200k's so I'll be booking her in for the Cambelt and water pump replacement soon. Probably get the transmission serviced too, just incase. Interior is super lush, feels like driving a couch! Here's a pic for now, I'll try get a few better one's over the next few days.
  2. fuck yes, rx2 coupes are my favourite! along with rx4 sedans I guess. Will look awesome on starsharks thats for sure!
  3. Awesome, thanks for the help guys. I'm going to go check out the car next week and hopefully finding a replacement clutch cable shortly after!
  4. Sorry probably a real noob dumb question, But i've come across a pretty decent looking rwd 323 here in Canada, really hoping to buy it, however the clutch cable is broken. In my years of old car ownership i've never had to do anything clutch related. I have access to only basic tools and no garage, is it a simple job? Similar to speedo cable? Thanks in advance!
  5. looks damn tidy man, whats the plans?
  6. ah yep, i could see one of those black rubbery type ones looking ok on the bootlid. pretty sure some of the GT spec and turbo spec ones may have come with them too. nice and easy little cars these, never anything too difficult to work on, and nice and cheap to run.
  7. this is just the 1500cc model, GLX though, so has a few little bits n pieces that is better than the budget spec ones, plush brown velour interior being one of the perks ! will stay the way it is now, its a reliable daily and i wouldnt want to spend money on a engine swap unless this one gave up on me. although im sure a turbo or injected engine would be much nicer and quicker to have. you have a pic of these BMW things your talking about? i cant picture it?
  8. thanks man, never driven a turbo one, but imagine they'd be a bit of fun for sure. a decent turbo one is definatly getting harder to find nowdays too
  9. nothing special, but i guess these are kind of getting a bit harder to find in tidy shape nowdays. Owned quite a few different BF 323's and lasers and have always made awesome reliable cheap dailys, so when i got back from overseas travelling earlier this year I was on the hunt for solid tidy daily for under $1500. This popped up on trademe and had a $1000 no reserve, that immediatly got my attention, and quickly called the contact number to have a look and test drive. Car was super tidy and drove well, so kept it on my watchlist for a week. Ended up in a bidding war with 1 other person, and ended up paying $1500 for it. Kind of got caught up in the trademe bids, so was more than what i normally would of paid, but oh well. Got it and have been happy with it. This how it looked after picking it up, nice n tidy with only a few small paint marks and trolley dents. Found some cheap dobi springs on trademe, so bought and fitted those. Then kept my eye out for some cheap rims. Didnt want anything bigger than 15's to avoid the roller skate look. And ended up finding some factory GSR alloys with brand new tyres on them, so snapped them up for a decent price. Then finally got the windows tinted. Pretty happy with how it looks, could always bit a bit lower though ... so might look into a coil or two less here n there sometime soon.
  10. pretty sure i saw this driving south near manurewa on the motorway tues / wednesday? looks nice man, nice n simple, clean and low. always a good combo
  11. looks good man! Whats the plans colour wise? Or leaving it Mattblack? THe quicktrix look good on it too!
  12. looks alright on those typeR wheels man.
  13. wow ... looks amazing man. Would love to buy it! you certainly know how to make a car look amazing.
  14. hard to know with rims, would definatly either make or break it ... wouldnt go bigger than 15-16's tho
  15. Looks good man, seen it on trademe a lot and was a decent price for the set up it has! Any plans on rims?
  16. Lol, nothing flash, just got the standard motor back in it. Got sick of pushing it in and out of the garage to get the mountain bikes out. Just spent any spare engine cash on a trip to japan next year, so would have to sacrifice snowboarding in the weekends to get something fun in the engine bay, I'd rather be at the snow Nice one, you'll love japan. Havent been there yet for snowboarding but work with a japanese guy that raves about it. Massive amounts of praise for the wagon too man, looks amazing. You definatly build the best mazda's in NZ thats for sure. Simple clean and well, just perfect really
  17. Real? That ain't cool Thats gota be BS My local Lady at the VTNZ is pretty handy when it comes to getting car info etc. I don't need to know my donor history anyhow im swapping plates lols If you have the plates, cant you put them into that carjam website and actually buy the report? That shows why it failed a wof, last inspection etc etc doesnt it? As for keeping the black plates, if the rego is on hold then yep, you get to just simply put on a rego payment and keep the plates, if its been 'de-regd' then no, a new vin number is assigned to the vehicle and you get issued with new plates. You could spend the money and buy the personalised plate of your old plate, and just run the black plates though.

  20. Hey there fulla's! Bought this gearbox about 3 years ago, got told it was a celica W50 box. Its got 33111-20090 10 on the gearbox 33141-20090 is on the back part. and 3038E 7505D is on the bell housing. Here's 2 pics, any help appreciated, oh, and its for sale too, so some make me an offer!
