  7. cheers all for coming along. was a scorcher of a day. Still a good 45+ turnout even with my usual lack of advertising. So far there's some pics up on the facebook page by driven photography. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.582081158538336 please post up if you took some or email me so i can host. and just a heads up, I'll be organising another meet around early April.
  8. The original idea came about from the japanese new year classic car meets as a first meet of the year (and our sunny season). feb/march is pretty choca with car events already so instead of adding another to an already busy period, I was hoping to have it as early as possible. But too many people complained that 1st and 2nd weekends of Jan they weren't back from holidays.. 4th week is usually rotor nats which is a major clash. and yeah people that come up for BDO or kumeu can hit two birds. So it's pretty much staying 3rd week of Jan from now unless other events move dates.
  9. Sunday 19th jan locked in. 11am on outside The Ferguson bar. the tiered carpark on university ave. Massey Albany campus. Map https://maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&q=massey+uni&ie=UTF8&t=h&sll=-36.73331,174.703493&sspn=0.001528,0.002411&rq=1&ev=zi&split=1&radius=0.08&hq=massey+uni&hnear=&ll=-36.733132,174.703496&spn=0.001528,0.002411&z=19 can cruise from westgate BK carpark or greenlane McD's, meet there 10.15am and leave 10.40am ish. If anyone definitely be at these meet points and wish to leave a contact number for people getting lost, please do so.
  10. let me know if there's any other conflicting events on the 19th jan. date could be made the saturday. but not early coz who the hell gets up early. i'll be at BDO friday for the first time ever. Pearl Jam FTW! Feel free to discuss cruise details to the event. IE from greenlane maccas and westgate outside BK seems to work in previous years.
  11. 7th Annual New Year Nostalgic Japanese and Oldschool Car Meet Jan 2014 So before it gets all last minute... Date will be Sunday 19th Jan so keep it free! sunday so to keep you kumeu fans happy. BDO is on the friday 17th. kumeu hot rod show same weekend and rotor nats the following weekend. Place will be massey uni carpark outside 'The Ferguson' bar like previous years. Map https://maps.google.co.nz/maps?ll=-36.733106,174.703518&spn=0.000955,0.002064&t=h&z=20 previous meets and info can be seen here http://toycrazy.net/gallery/classicjap/classicjap.html Facebook page up here https://www.facebook.com/events/640128036033869/ Please tell your friends and invite like minded peeps on FB. cheers
  12. all the more reason for a turbocharged quad bike for towing duties
  13. yeah the tooling is expensive. could produce a trumpet for like $1 ea. but when the cost of tooling is added in, be looking at retail price round $8-10ea. still hell of a lot cheaper than any metal equivalent. wont be this year bobdylan
  14. I've got these drawn up. even an injection mould tool to make straight trumpets in different lengths using neoprene (like the BT trumpets) and various other flanges like dcoe. future project
  15. I have an old molnar mk2 2post hoist which says in specs 100mm minimum slab. not clear floor tho, so loading more spread out. 3 phase definitely handy in the shed. most larger machinery use it. If wired up already, then more options when buying machinery. 2nd hand 3phase welders are often cheaper too.
  16. looks 8 bolt. 4-pinion e7 wagon diff very likely S series 6.38". come in ke72, ke74 and ce71. same head as ae85. I'd suggest F series for your requirements. should handle 300 horsies easy enough. nothing easy bolt in sadly. best fit is T13# corona or a4# celica. got one myself in ke70 coupe. its same spec as usa ma46 mk1 supra rear. 4x114.3 factory solid 9" disk brake and 5-10mm total wider than ae86/te71 rear. see club4ag.com forum for how to convert it to e86/e7 chassis. can find em in NZ, in jdm tt132 18rgeu 2000GT corona or ra45 GT celica. but rare things! CR30 series liteace 4wd or masterace surf 4wd have F diff but drum brake only, some with std lsd. 5stud can be redrilled. one at zebra parts currently with mangled drum and no head. Estima is widest F series you can get but most common to find. 1545mm drum-to-drum vs 1410 for E7 rolla. 5x114.3. disk versions easy to find at PAP. big 11"? vented disk with drum handbrake. they heavy mongrels and drum versions are hilux size drum. head's are chunkier than other F series. Crown ms110/112 have disk F series, drum handbrake. 5x114.3 stud. 1450mm wide. wack handbrake cable system though. E series 7.1" has same axle diameter as kouki (post 1985 ish) T series so no improvement really. and cannot get lsd for one either. 4x114/3. common as in 2wd liteace. identifying toyota diffs... http://www.club-k.co.nz/Forums/viewthread.php?tid=10452 sick of typing
  17. Re cooling. bypass into the other small hose. the one directly under the thermostat. It gets shut off when the thermostat opens and thus not recirculating hot water once warmed. you've connected into the heater return hose. chur. good progress
  18. different length unfortunately. but can mix match ae92/ae101 rear suspension/brakes to have an upgrade.
  19. both have their benefits. i'd easily daily a torsen (and have a few for this reason). they designed to maintain traction but both wheels need to be on the ground for it to work. can still get it sideways for a bit of fun and sure beats an open diff. If you somehow get stuck with one wheel in the air going offroad etc, apply the brakes and the load from applying brakes to the spinning wheel will transfer to the loaded wheel. I read that in humvee literature heh. Can't beat the 2way clutch lsd for drift and track.
  20. bumpy some people will be coming from hamptons from a drift day it seems.
  21. I've booked in hamilton blastacars this sunday. all invited. rock up between 4.30-5pm booked under 'club-k' http://www.blastacars.co.nz/hamilton/hamilton-home Heading to wongs kitchen after for a feed of chicken (highly recommend it). https://www.facebook.com/wongskitchen 63 massey st, hamilton feel free to invite others. post up if you're keen so i can get an idea of numbers. cruise gonna start for aucklanders. meet bombay opposite caltex before 3pm. cheers -Mark
  22. this in the correct section? rather than write something twice.. have a read of this http://www.club-k.co.nz/Forums/viewthread.php?tid=10360#pid72221 i've gone the ae86 strut conversion route.
  23. good to see hippo's old GTrally being fixed up! such a rare spec too. and that black interior is badass AA63 4age celica GT i think has the irs T series also. If you get stuck finding rear end bits, maybe hit up callum WDE_BDY in gisborne, think he may be parting his ta61 celica out? Or upgrade to the F series subframe assembly which means altezza lsd's can be fitted. can source those from the 18rgeu and 3tgte powered A6 celica and tt142 corona GT-T also.
  24. could you not suss out registration using the number plate for details?
