As per my response in spam,
It was stoppung the endless cycle of riding, bbqs and pubs that broke the spell. The gentle hum* of the nbc makes you forget how tired you are.

As a scum bag north islander, you really do forget how fucking amazing the south isle is. That ride looks like a must do TBH. Also makes me very happy to see the NBC out there living its best life.
that bike is a fucking trooper. I stuggle to comprehend how it hasnt cried uncle yet given the abuse its withstood, and the insanely brutal trails its been up and down.
Even managed to touch the rev limiter in topgear coming down into Garston.

Fuck, this ride has been epic! Bbqs, beers, and small bikes. Plus pub feeds.
Nothing short of a pleasure to have @TimShadboltfan27 joing us for part of the journey. Also quite delightful to get to see @Truenotchfor a beer and a sharn at the riversdale pub last night.
Thus far the weather has co-operated. And we've had nobody injured/very low boke attrition rate. (Besides @holdenman cable, @NZChaddy has suffered two snakebite flatties.
I wish this ride could never end.......

The Akaroa summit road is a pretty fun drive in a light supercharged car.
And Waiou to Kaikoura is the best road I've ever driven. Fuck all traffic. It's like a targa rally.
Twistys, long straights, steep hills. It has everything!
OS needs to do that run again this summer.

Also now with the hundalees being a pathetic 60kmh limit. Fuck it is so dead now all the post quake repairs have been done and errbody goes the coast way.
11/10 would recommend especially now, I would've passed one car, and maybe 4 coming the other way between the turnoff near kaikoura and waiau. Gr9 windy bits. Although a 3.2t ranger with toolboxes etc isn't the most nimble through there I gave it my best.
/this thread needed an almost 9 year dredge anyway.
It appears we do agree on something Jesse!

Not long to go now!!
Just a reminder to make sure your gear is all in order, and that your bikes are 100% copacetic. I still need to oil change my bike, and hit my riding gear with waterproofing spray.
Ive requested fine weather for all four days, but if we get any liquid sunshine, it makes for a long day if your undies get wet.
Im still recovering from a huge weekend last weekend. Otherwise i would be absolutely fucking frothing right now........

Last time i looked, their conrods were cheap enough to sow the seeds of doubt.
One discussion i saw questioned how good the factory balaning of them was.

Comrade Nikolia, we've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warrantee.....

Today i pulled an 11.5 hour mish to go collect this thing. Loading cars that dont roll can be tricky. But it went better than expected.
Came with a lot of tidy parts. But theres also a fair bit missing. (Including plates and tag) (the old rego number is etched into the window though. And it comes up in car jam.
Theres been more work done to the undercarriage than i expected. Has a full C notch done. And the mounting points for the 4 link look to be there. Theres also lots of extra stiffening done to the floor. And fuck all rust. (For a datsun) it also came with (but not pictured) front guards and bonnet. These have been tack welded together. (The guy was planning a flip front)

^i dont think the silicone elbow will have enough spine to retain its shape and maintain an air tight seal. They would probably work mint with an aluminuim bend. (Where pipe tails could just be welded on anyway)
