As these motors go forever and a day, (but take forever to get there, i would love to see someone fit an Eaton M90 to one of these engines.

You wanna camp there in winter?
Thats a Tori level of misery.........

We'd have to go speak to the people who are now running the camp very nicely before getting too excited about a hanmeet.
The people running it are all new now.
Karl and i have met them when we jacked up leaving vehicles/trailers there for a couple of the moped melee. Theyre good sorts. We told them how we used to book the whole place out back in the day.

Spokes are cheap. Ill get at least four more years from it. Then ill sell this wherl, andfit my other spare one. And the cycle shall continue.

I ended up buying one of trademe. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow. I thought about making a new contactor to go in that wee square pocket. But the other contactors are badly worn, and i figured it was less effort (lower opportunity cost) just to buy one.

A local clutch guru once streesed to me that getting all the fulcrums/strokes/throws set up correctly is beyond critical when setting up hybrid/mish-mash installs...

Do they all break at the shoulder?
Yes.
Im not expert, (so far from it that you cant even see land) but my suspicion is that the size of the inner hub vs the outer rim diameter means that the spokes simply arent thick enough to withstand the abuse these rides throw at it. Mr honda would have never expected this bike to go where we take them.
At least a CT is intended to be bashed about off road.
-
The spokes arent long enough to flop about and do any harm.
-
Just gave my bike its annual post melee wash.
Also knocked out an oil change. For oil with 1000kms on it, it was remarkably black.
In addition, i found a broken spoke on the rear wheel too. That makes every year ive broken at least one spoke on the moped melee. Looks like ill be off to see Peter King at wheel building services for a new spoke sometime in the new future.

My work bought a golf cart for doing footpath inspections. Range isnt that far. A gyro woyld be loads better.

On a recent trip to mexico, i got to experience this machine first hand. Hooooooo boy! Its quite jolly rapid!
Not slow at all!

Id probably need to file the contactors perfectly flat for the best result. Bike has ~80kms on it.

Yeah i finally got a response off my post on FB too. Sounds like they had a bit of yellow metal shaped like "[ " tucked into that square pocket. Im torn between making a new one, and buying another switch.
-
I dont really wanna buy a whole nother switch if this one is an easy fix.
-
I asked this on the honda CT page, but only had suggestions of "do a lifan swap"
The indicator switch on my 08 ct110 seems a bit shonky. (The action is wrong/doesnt work)
Ive pulled it down, but there seems to be a bit missing? A spring pushes something(?) To conect and make a circuit between two points. Id has it as a guess that a lot of old honda shit is the same?

Im still thinking about this once in a while.
Tracked down a less fucked right front guard. It was up welles ways. @Goat kindly let me use his house as a freight forward depot. The seller dropped it off, and a mate who was passing by collected it the next day. Picked it up tonight.
Defo needs a wee bit of work. But i can buy the inner and outer bottoms off the shelf from Automotive Panel Craft in Oz.
Thanks to @Classicdat for lugging it south for me too!

Elite wheels sell barrels.
I beleive TWL might have trailer spec ones too? (I know @Valiant procured some 15" ones off them)
