  1. Is this Jag injection you planning to use or something aftermarket? The original Megasquirt “Megamanual” used to be a superb introduction to the basic principles of FI and ignition control. That was in 2004…. It still exists but it’s grown a bit (a lot) so picking the basics out is harder now…. https://www.megamanual.com/mtabcon.htm#wire
  2. Yes, a drawback of owning cars a long time is you get to look back in horror at crappy work done by your younger self…. Sometimes even “how the hell has that been working for the last 22 years” (examining my “prototype” (it’s a one-off for sure!) FI plumbing.
  3. Indeed. Completely agree, but as I don’t have a brake press I’ll stoop to having someone do that for me - unless it’s short enough to stick in the vice and beat on it with a big hammer. Also, my preferred fabricator has had the cheek to retire, so I’ll need to find and tame a new one 🙄
  4. Can you not just get a local fabricator with a brake press to fold you some 3mm plate?
  5. Hop in the back boss…..
  6. Worked for me on the old Audi 5 pot TDI. Another 5mpg and much less smoke. That was 250k miles ago too so probably hasn’t hurt reliability….
  7. True dat….. unfortunately. The car is going to be bloody amazing with this conversion….. watching with great interest.
  8. It’s more a case of Imgur choosing to remove their service from the UK in preference to policing themselves/their users for nice things like child pornography. It’s possible to get around this by using the Opera browser and engaging their VPN function. It’s a bit of a faff, but worthwhile for a Pog project 🙂
  9. As I think I said before, it’s only about the same size as a typical modern. It’s just that the S-type is fairly petite 🙂 Lot of acreage to polish there 😛
  10. Wow….. some mission-creep here….. about 3 feet in all directions!
  11. Just a normal size car these days….
  12. I know a couple of folks using them. They are fine apparently…..
  13. Ok, that’s interesting. Though it might be they just haven’t updated their lists/websites. Didn’t find either of them to be good communicators and when they did I didn’t like their answers anyway ($$$$$$$!) W56 possibly most plentiful as used in 2WD Hilux etc. was possible to buy them new quite recently. Ratios are a bit crap though.
  14. Likewise. That’s not to say that I won’t take a commercial solution if it’s time/cost effective though.
  15. Does Conversion Components (Colin Dray) still exist. Google says he does W5X -> AJ6 bell housings. Also Dellow in Oz…. W5X remote is relatively easy to mod but there are several factory lengths as stated. Also several different factory bell housings. One thing to watch with the W5X is they (the ones I’ve seen at least) have a pretty short input shaft, whereas your new bellhousing looks reasonably deep…. I have a W58 I can measure if you need anything.
