  1. it's been 9 months, have not updated this as much as I would have liked, after getting shell shocked at the rust repair bill back in March. (long story short, I could have bought 1.5 cars again) shift knob sorted with an MG unit, my mechanic Jason at High Spek sorted me out with everything, and it is all g.
  2. https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/80994-jeeves-1983-peugeot-505-sti-fuel-injection-m/ Hey all, Have hit my first snag in obtaining parts for the Green Gallic Girl. The movers broke the possibly aged and cracked rubber gear knob (circled in red below) and after market ones are just not right, were these ever reproduced? I may just end up with a more modern replacement which involves butchering the old column but I really like the old unit.
  3. installed new headlight and parking light bulbs . many skinned knuckles and the like.
  4. Took the car out on the weekday in the traffic, and I am reminded how obese people have limited choices in driving manual vehicles.
  5. SO I collected the car 2 months ago, and the shippers smashed up my gearknob. The clutch slave and master was leaky and the dang there is a water leak that may or may not come from the perishing sunroof/window seals. the previous owner had probably used it as a winery hack with the amount of dust and dog hair in the car. mostly cleaned it up over the past couple of months, but it could still be better. Battery then went flat due to trying to open the deteriorating sunroof, so got a battery charger and refurbished the battery, which was great! the existing gearknob on the other hand is from a MGF with a rubber gland to keep it in place. fast forward to last week, we got the clutch master and slave cylinders from Latvia, (NZD180 delivered! thanks eBay!) and switched it out yesterday, had to get a couple of acquaintances to help out, as crawling under anything now is just not feasible. will need to get down to chasing the leak now, and rebuilding the sunroof. and hope and pray it passes the WOF coming up in January.
