  1. was the previous owner attempting a rebuild?
  2. Its actually just a half chassis bolted on to half a body
  3. Yes they were factory lsd, Drive shaft different to standard ute, from memory wagon driveshaft was closer.
  4. ahhh memories, My first ever ute was a 76 one tonner. Was contract roofing and it was my daily. 202 and 4 speed. No rocket ship but extremely reliable. yours is the genuine article too, lots of wannabe models around. Should never have sold it, Missed it so much I had to go and get a later model version. I still have a few random parts from the 76,(headlight surrounds, mirrors, door handles, wiring bits and pieces, air cleaner), If your ever in Tauranga bring a bottle of Jim Beam and take what you want. Have got Lpg set up out of it too, everything but the tank. Here's a few of the bits I dug out. And my late model version, 5.7 and 6speed.
  5. excellent Barry wheel trim combo
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYLahh05Ras&feature=youtu.be And like a heard of mildly bemused bumble bees, they were off! God speed. Ringningningningning.
  7. I will be scooterless but will still come over to meet and catch up. Look out for a black car with green flames on the front, thats me.
  8. I'm impressed with the seamless transformation from metal roof to concrete. Nice job, only an extremely well schooled Barry would pick it. Oh Crap! I think I just outed myself.
  9. I'm no doctor, But that abandoned air matress looks to have a tumor.
  10. I have land at Tauriko (lots of room for activities) and would be open to hosting a dirt day if anyone is keen? Register interest by reacting to this post and I will attend the Tga/Mmn ride to meet, greet, and discuss potential rural shennanigrins
  11. After reading through other OS threads about bush blocks, shed builds, house buses, etc, I figured that perhaps this information could be used by others in the future. Everyone likes a good DIY and sometimes its just handy to know how to get yourself out of the shit!
  12. 12.30pm; aside from a bit of cleaning up, job done.
  13. The section of pipe running uphill to the problem area we don't cut any holes in, this would have concentrated all the poos water in one area. No no no.
  14. So now comes the technical bit, Using the grinder we cut slots on the pipe at 500mm intervals. Next we glue the sections of slotted pipe together and place them in the drain keeping this section pretty much level, (thanks to Ray the builder for use of his laser level). This is where the poos water will run too and evenly dispurse through the slotted holes if I have done everything correctly.
  15. When I first bought this tool kit, I thought the grinder would just be a toy. It has turned out to be a very versatile piece if gear
  16. Drains all dug, A splash of drainage metal in the bottom, Then its time to get out the handy dandy battery grinder
  17. Day 2. 8.30am, after a hearty breakfast of nescafe, and a slight attitude adjustment, I'm back into it.
  18. Yea, I considered paying a contractor, best quote from 3 was $4k, with a 5 week wait.
  19. It is a blocked/ worn out field drain from my septic tank system. I'm creating a new section of field drain to dispurse the fluid from the system. In town you just hook up to the sewer, in the country you need your own system. Soak holes do the same job but the water table is too high where i am, so field drain is the best option.
  20. dig dig dig. 7.30pm. bourbon now. End of day 1.
  21. 6.00pm friday, finished work. Time to dig
