  1. Solid cruiser, should be driving in no time.
  2. Thread dredge. Anyone know what became of this wagon? I gather @cylindersmoved to Australia and hasn't been on here a while.
  3. I thought you were Auckland based?
  4. Could do day cruise to museum if happening. Auckland events mean min of 4 hrs driving for me so tend not do many. There used to be os Waikato meets and I went to a few but I think maybe it's CJC now or something idk. Someone can probably fill you in on that , I think it's organised through Facebook now.
  5. Actually I got some generic flush from repco and forgot to change it about 3 months, seemed to be fine.
  6. Yeah, put the old radiator in and perform a stationary cooling system test and it should be sweet, just remember to film it.
  7. Probably would be better to go rover V8 over 308 just because they are far more common these days. Datsun parts/engines in general are getting expensive, would make the suggestion if you were to go that way look at the d21/Navara engine perhaps, a z16 even should be around 100hp and shouldn't be hard to find. Maybe the viva breaks and diff would be up to it, I don't really know. Lots of great engines out there.
  8. Been waiting to see how those hoses work, quite surprised those clips can hold. I assumed ac ran at high pressure but I guess it's similar to an air compressor.
  9. Dang, just saw this was for sale. Did you get it all sorted and use it for a bit?
  10. Van is looking great, landrover run a timer/relay. Pretty simple setup, no doubt could find cheaper, this is just the first one that comes up on search. I saw this listing you may be interested in: Glow Plug Timer Relay suitable for Discovery 1 Defender Range Rover Classic https://www.trademe.co.nz/4311509936
  11. Awesome to see you are back at it, it is looking great!
  12. Possibly the IG- would provide the signal but it comes from engine control computer? Maybe it needs the right controller to run a digital dash?
  13. Interior is looking good flash, well done.
  14. That's terrible dude, sorry you had to go through it.
  15. In general, commercial vehicles are hard riding and bouncy empty. Your van is designed to be loaded so possibly the rear shocks are all good. Sounds like your on to a winner with your couch, chuck some tools and maybe a water tank or something and you should be cruising.
  16. Finished up the injector plugs And wired the new coil igniter Ran the power wires through to the battery and found my missing 10mm from kaikoura in 2019, amazing! Spent quite a lot of time deciding how to tackle the fuel pump supply. The original relay is on the battery side and I think I will tap into it instead of running wires right through BUT the fuel pump is also controlled on the negative side I would assume from the ECU, as well as a 30s timer and relay at the rear RHS. I think I can just earth out that side of the pump and I should be all good. Ran the ignition power wire into the cabin but haven't wired it into anything yet. With all this done I have been able to power up and connect to the laptop with no smoke so far. Been going through and setting it up and have coolant temp, air temp and throttle sensor giving the right readings. Wired up the wideband controller and have enabled it but for some reason I can't assign the oxygen sensors and only one seems to be heating. Annoying.
  17. You could also try putting some weight in the back, it may be the front bouncing but it might level out when loaded.
  18. If you happen to go there again could you please see if it has the organiser tray on the dash and if the seats are in good nick. Cheers.
  19. It's been coming along @gibbon. I need to replace those tyres for the new rims and get some centre caps, I got some bushes from Japan which have taken ages to get here that I need to sort. other than that the interior is still a bit gross and idk, might lower it some maybe.
  20. I think I get it, injectors are wired 4 cylinders apart in the firing order? FO 1843. 6572 1 and 6 8 and 5 4 and 7 3 and 2 Set twice per cycle which would be each crank rotation? Then it would inject on intake on both cylinders that are wired together?
  21. Oh yeah it's 18436572, dumb fat fingers! Should add from standing at the front the engine layout is
