The wheels went out to Pine engineering. I was not stoked with the old fasteners. One lip was suspect. Actually a lot of stuff not real flash. I was not disappointed I had them done by Pine either.

Small update.. Car is running sweet no more mechanical drama..

I searched this one for a long time with the quad cam engine. Very hard but it is doable to keep the engines under the deck lid in the quad cam. The physical size difference is huge. And... they get hard to lower because they have sumps. Hope you do it but.

while it's in de gas mode. Id be putting a drain bung in.. especially if it's going to be on going.

once your done you can tip a epoxy in there that the fuel wont eat and coat the tank. All aviation fuel sites have the filter bowls covered in the stuff. It works a treat.

Hilux LSD is useless.. have it done up it's shagged 2 weeks later. But there are full spools out there that fit up to hilux a old boss had a hilux diff in a 8.90 drag car. Never missed a beat. Light rotary application.

iv just wire wheeled and brushed all the K frame / arms and rails of my 260C with PA10 It wasn't that bad to do but i'll spew if I have to do it again in the next 5 years.

I see POR15 being slagged all over the net they reckon it was good now they have changed it too much and it's not as good.... I bit the hook and decided to use PA10 (international paints) is it same bum different undies kinda thing ?

yea tons and tons of vally gaskets they are shit. Remember to use 3 bond in the corners with the new gaskets or they leak like fuck. The other big thing I remember is bleeding the supercharged v6 after cooling system work is a must. 3 Bleed points in all. They arn't actually all that hard to bleed but it's important otherwise air lock. They cant bleed if you just use the cap.

Spent 7 years at Holden during the period of VY. I don't recall any heads cracking. Thats not to say they didn't I just dont remember doing any. did do head gaskets from time to time. But you had to try pritty hard Iron heads and Block with the overheating. ls1 had piston slap issues.. did a shit load of builds on them new slugs and rings. hermmm...

be pritty unlucky to have toast head gaskets with one of them.

I think a lot of it is down to the concentration of the converter. Most of the DIY super cheap stuff is 50 % phosphoric. Don't rate it. media blasting is the go.. But I have been using a higher strength phosphoric and a buffing wheel on rotation. eventually you get there. Then straight on when its dry with my be loved PA10 I have no idea on panel steel but this is chassis.

Just been threw the whole por15 thing. just did my datto rails & K frame and spent a lot of time looking at the right thing to use ended up with PA10 (international) though the mix is not as good as it use to be apparently you know back in the old days.. you don't paint it on rust if you can help it. It's only as good as the prep work. It has slight acid content this aids the etching into the steel to hold it I don't think it's a rust kill per say.
