  1. Trademe. Fkn iPhone keeps changing words like a politician
  2. There’s a few decent FC plates on the yard at the moment.
  3. That sux to see. maybe someone’s dropped the Torrington bearing at one point
  4. Back in the day there was an old gulls in Whangarei that made his own mufflers. he did the exhaust on my fxgt one night, started at 5.. the deal was that I bought him dinner and $250 cash. it sounded amazing when I drove away. basically a folded up box, 2” in, 2-1/4” out, the was a 90 angle on its end on both ends to direct flow left and right, and a 50x50 box in the middle, he called them “race box mufflers “. He did 2.5” from the floor pan to the rear muffler which was glass packed. it blew the glass out after a year or so of 7200rpm abuse. my mate had the same set up on his mk5 cortina, shit that thing was quick with that exhaust and twin throat. the shop is no longer there, was opposite where pak n save is in town. id like a better muffler on the hunter, those stainless dummy’s don’t do squat
  5. Yup also common for the water seal groove to disappear
  6. Could be caused by a number of possibilities really, cracked housing, blown water seals, cracked plates. they usually still comp test fine too. Atleast you know it’ll be good after a rebuild
  7. The original bonnet is getting trimmed and finished off
  8. *girly screams of excitement * just got these through
  9. So the above teaser was me dropping the ute off to a panelbeater near palmy. this is his update pics. i just didn’t have the time or mental energy to grind my way through the stitching phase, or attacking the mint bonnet with a grinder. he has made up new flanges for the front of the guards , he won’t use the rx3 guards on this set up, all new steel. have also tasked him to fill over the fuel filler hole as I can’t utilise that once I drop tank it out the back anyway. So now I’m forced to drop tank it now instead of when I bag it. it means that I can carry on with the tubs when it’s back. I will end up using push button bonnet pins, hopefully they’re ok as a bonnet pin for road use. I’ll also fit a check strap as a secondary safety measure happy days
  10. Fuck that off with a sharp stick. I would never inflict that kind of pain on any individual looking to aggressively sharn and relax, I make dumb decisions, but I’m not a cunt
  11. Yeah I chatted to the dude, he didn’t really say much about it, it’s a shame the wheel looks average as
  12. Found the misfire. This was after I took the injectors out and had them clean and flow tested, new filters and seals. $175 later in platinum plugs
  13. The upper arms on this can have the camber adjusted by packers between the arm bush bar mount thing and the chassis. Most have a couple of packers in from factory to correct the camber/castor. should be all g
  14. Never really been into airbrushing ae
  15. I had to fit a driveshaft hoop to the diff end on mine as the fuel line could’ve been taken out by a damaged driveshaft if the rear uj let go. my fuel line had to run along the side of the tunnel
  16. Nah it hasn’t gone to Smugz unfortunately. yeah the bolts look pretty slick IRL
  17. And just like that she’s gone….. dropped off to fielding what a Kent of a drive. Started with a flat tyre on the van, so had to swap all 4 wheels over from the other ute, that was a mission in itself. then drove all the way to fielding, dropped it off and refueled. As soon as I hit the main road from palmy to Sanson the ECL and DPF lights came on. limp mode engaged, no boost. FUGH!!! decided to send it. Hills were fun. crawled into the drive at 2am the next day after starting at 10am. van is booked in for a service and dpf delete next week
  18. So went to go to Waiau pa hop this morning, got 3km down the road and it started missing and spluttering. then got progressively worse on the way back. my guess is blocked injectors.
  19. Some goodies arrived from across the ditch. thought I’d give them a looksy
  20. Thought I’d have a go at showing off the shiny cam gears. Added clear plastic cambelt cover. nice, then cover it up with the silly intake pipe. Hmm, must rethink the filter set up
  21. Took the Hunter away for the garlic farm budget Nats .. had brake issues the morning I left, and throughout the weekend, but managed through it cos Slow car.. I knew what it was, the little valley type thing inside the remote booster/slave vh44 deal threw a shit fit and decided to stay put and no longer do brake things. i already had a new unit on the bench, but procrastination took hold and I never did swap it until today. im taking her to Waiau Pa hop next weekend, so keen to have brakes. fairly easy deal to swap it. and it brakes now, and releases.. winning while I had the brake mojo and the flaring tool, I decided to run the brake lines on the trailer. What a Kent, but it’s done and it has brakes and no leaks. ive left the brakes locked on overnight to check for any leakage. Should be good. also clamped the conduit up. so only have the 4 mudguard stays to weld on, then screw the boards on before getting it registered.
