  1. A rare car and worth fixing properly. If you can't weld and fabricate the patches I'd give Greg a call at R3 Fabricators
  2. Progress with the front being mocked up and all the points are spot on. A long way to go yet but moving in the right direction at last.
  3. I'm willing to help out and have all the tools. Just need to get the oldschool network to dig out a good gearbox and may as well throw a clutch in it at the same time. 4 hours work max if nothing else is fucked
  4. It's all go on the bodywork finally. All parts sourced except a NOS rear panel as it's been tapped in the rear at some stage and the RHS tail light tilts in. Plan going forward is to get the body ready for paint and then bolt in the running gear to make sure it's all sitting right. I'm running lowered suspension with adjustable Spax Shocks all round I and will get the rear leaves reset as I don't want to use lowering blocks. Then I will remove the running gear and off to paint. I bought a Mk 1 4 door ages ago which was dismantled and the body turned out to be a stunner when blasted. So I got all the front end for mine and the floor went into another Mk 1 2 door.
  5. LSA Chev, Auto, 9" 4 wheel discs. AP Racing brakes, air ride, yeah right lol. There must be a few of those gearboxes lying around. If the engine is ok I'd hit up someone like the Gearbox Factory and see if they will fix it for haircuts all round and some signage on the van as support for a great cause.
  6. Autodec carpets are shit. I bought a set for my Cortina and ended up gettting an upholstery mate to remake them. I reckon Stevie Wonder is Autodecs carpet maker.
  7. Probably just needs a good blast down a straight Southland country road to clear all the crap out of it
  8. They sound like Burtons who will only use DHL which costs a fucking fortune and DHL play the customs game to the max so they can charge for that as well. Cunts
  9. Chris at Suspension Tech is the man you want to see for bushes and shocks
  10. Umm not too sure how the P76 slipped in
  11. Loose earth somewhere ? Or the battery is fucked. Cool old ute. I used to have an S Pack one of these in the late 80's. 5 years old and was starting to rust out then so yours a real survivor
  12. Not really they are 50mm dia. The carb and scoop is a bigger hazard as far as blocking the view out the front
  13. Is it true you can't have A pillar mounted gauges? I want to run oil pressure and temp gauges in my Senator as I don't want to mount them on the dash or anywhere in the dash. Young bucks at work are saying illegal.
  14. I was think of selling my HQ Statesman but would never get an original one again plus I have fully rebuilt it mechanically over the last 3 years so I'll just keep it
  15. Finally work is about to start on the body again. Greg from R3 Fabrications is going to complete it. Dropping it out next weekend and full steam ahead.
  16. I'd almost fly from Auckland to help for some whitebait fritters!!

    Carb Repair

Weber Specialties Albany Auckland are very good. He's a bit grumpy but does top work. Drop him a pic and he will tell you if it's fucked or not
  18. Yes you have put it in right. You need to hook an oil pressure gauge up to it to see if it's actually got any pressure. I can't recall however is the oil pickup bolted or a push fit in the block. If it's a push fit are you sure the oil pickup pipe hasn't dropped out?
  19. Has the oil gallery core plug been installed in the back of the block? I would take out the spark plugs and hook up an oil pressure gauge, then crank the engine over and it should show oil pressure. Failing that I'd say it's in the oil pick up pipe or your engine builder has stuffed up the main/big end bearing clearances. If you have had it line bored check you have used the correct main bearing shell size. Engine builder should have checked clearances any way.
