  1. I'm not sure on the pod filter now I'll be using the new engine, but it's still an option. No doubt there will be a few parts I'll need shortly but I'll cross that bridge when it comes. Thanks for that mate. I'll sort out postage for you this coming week hopefully.
  2. All yours if you want them Raizer:
  3. Had 5 minutes spare for the first time this week, gave her the degreaser/hose treatment. Still a decent way to go, but much better than before: Hoping to find some time on Sunday to get stuck into mocking up with the fs50 before hitting the engine head on.
  4. Sorted mate, I'll get them off and drained this week/weekend and get to you through PM for your details. I'll take any extra parts I can get at the moment, so that sounds awesome. Cheers Raizer. Following your build with interest.
  5. Looks good to me, nothing a bit of brute force can't sort out surely. Let me know if you're keen at all on the tanks and seat at all, I'm not gonna be using them. No hassle to get them your way. No $$$ necessary. Can send more photos if needed.
  6. Absolutely mate, sounds good. As you say, I won't really be using any of the frame or panels, or the seat/storage compartment. It's pretty massive. Will get it cleaned off during the week and see where I'm at. Cheers Raizer! Will probably require your expertise as time wears on!
  7. Yup that's the one. Plastics are mostly there. Front end and foot well etc. None from the back though. I have the seat and storage compartment too. Possibly after a rear wheel myself now as this one was already taken.
  8. Introducing old mate AZ50: And the barely used engine: And again: Here's to some progress. Picked up this pretty gutted AZ50 for $120 and she'll be the new power plant for the FS50. Should be a fun little project now it has some momentum. Will still hang on to the old 2 speed fs50 engine and hopefully give it an overhaul one day. But with this beast available so cheap, and being a Suzuki, I couldn't help but want to mix old and new. It won't be everyone's cup of tea. But here's to 12v and moooaaarrr poooowaaaar.
  9. Hey all, Just waiting on boxes of stuff from South East Asia, takes a while to collect everything so it's mostly on hold at the moment. Have a couple of pairs of wide rims for sale to fund the shipping process: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/51898-fs-300x17-rim-pair-425450x17-rim-pair-street-cub-rims/

  12. About $60 shipped. This one is 260mm and has 10mm eye holes. Most of the Aliexpress dudes can change the eye sizes if need be too.
  13. Well this is becoming rather fun... And side on with better light: Found this among one of my Thai parts hauls. Just bought these and awaiting their arrival:
  14. I've just had it up to 35MPH indicated n the speedo, so up around that mark. It's a cool little gear box on it. The wheels are similar in style to the Chaly. But as it's not chain driven I think i'd run into a few problems. I'll be running with the standard rims. They're off now and ready to be cleaned up before I send them to the powder coaters. Just bought a pair of Michelin S1's and some white walls, so we'll see how the shipping fairies work out over the holiday period. Gone up a size, originally had 2.75 front and 3.00 rear. Now it will have 3.00 front and 3.50 rear. Here's where I found the white walls: http://ebay.to/1NTCSgx
  15. She'll be bought back to life and made into her own, but nothing will be chopped. The parts for this model are a bit more difficult than it's cousins, not sure why. It does have an epic 2 speed auto box, accelerates smoothly then at about 25/30kph there is a small lull and it suddenly zooms off chasing the late 40's. Shopping list at present: Filter: http://bit.ly/1IR6j2i Exhaust: http://bit.ly/1OsI72Y Shock: http://bit.ly/1NtGBh4 There is another young dude around here who had one up for sale for about $550, but he's convinced on keeping it now. So probably would need a few more Benjamins to pry it off him. Decent plastics, yellow, rego'd.
  16. Cheers man! This was just in the local one for Tauranga. Haven't stumbled upon any decent scooter groups yet as far as parts and selling/sharing is concerned. Been looking at expansion chambers, a new shorter rear shock and a nice filter from Aliexpress. Will see how much fun can be had on a summer budget!
  17. Link to a video. No idea how to post it in here. https://www.facebook.com/mopednz/videos/810715042408577/
  18. Saw this pop up in a buy/sell/swap group on Faceballs last week for next to nothing. I ignored it for a few days and decided I'd go see it if it was still there on the weekend. Low and behold! It was. So here she is: She was running on pick up but was last used on a farm so the engine and such was super dirty. Slowly took the plastics off. Plan on ditching the rear plastics but I'm gonna try fix up the front legshield, or source another one if possible. Sadly the fs50 legshields seem to be few and far between. Not even reproduced anymore, unlike the fa50 or fz50 ones which can still be sourced pretty easily. And that was as far as I got on the day of pick up. Got back to it last night and she's running again. Planning on tidying up a few things like the wheels, exhaust, filter. Get her road legal shortly and ride through the summer before giving her the royal treatment next year.
  19. Pulled the block off, will probably end up diving in deeper as the kick start shaft is a little shredded. Not bad condition for 43 years of effort from the old girl.
  20. About $150 landed I think, haven't actually done the conversion yet. It'll require some 'manipulation' to mount upto the pw80 block/head I'll be using but should do a nice job.
  21. Expansion chamber arrived! Cylinder kit to arrive, and then we'll be in business!
  22. Might sounds crude as hell, but seen a bunch of guys using two thick strips of Velcro to hold their seats on. Seems to work a charm and sits super flush. Not so clean if you wanna keep it beautiful under there, but easy cheap and does the trick.
  23. Awesome! Cool to see more c50's being built. Leg-shields are pretty easy to get if you need a replacement. I may have about 5 coming here in the new year. The dudes in the UK are right into the custom cubs and they have the best place for checking out how to's and locations to buy stuff. Camphill Chop Shop is the group on facebook. I'm using an aftermarket swing arm on mine to fit a 4.5" rim in the rear, you can go about 3.0" wide if you keep the standard one. Keeping an eye on the build! Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions about parts etc.
  24. Waiting on black spokes and polished hubs to arrive. I won't be pursuing the disc brake option with this bike. Due to the leading link suspension, the disc would end up being more of a show piece than anything with my plans, the last thing i"ll need is more weight. So if anyone wants a nice disc, hub and caliper set up let me know. This set up here: Disc, hub, caliper and bolts. If anyone is keen here, send me a message and I'll sort something out.
