    Should work for me, be a good diversion from cramming too much shit into to small a space. Shifting house over easter- lowering the standards of a snobbier part of town. odds are there'll be less garage space & i've got too many projects

    Yea yea...... mine said i was doin 80mph while sittin behind the luxo barge & the rolling road block on the way home, sounded like 8000 revs while doing it. Nearly paid the price for that too, checked the oil at Mataura, EMTPY! full sump when i left town in the morning. Probably a good thing for the rest of you that i was at the back of the convoy on the way home. Was a great day out even though the little white turd started its own weight loss program by shedding parts ie; 2 brand new exhaust flange nuts are now part of the Central Otago roadside rubbish. Sourced another avenger motor up there & hopefully theres some other bits in the shed. Like the idea of gettin 1 of the avengers...... but moving house @ 3 weeks time & theres no room too many toys already. Wasn't paying much attention to how less twitchy little turd was chasing @kyteler & @Toddy415 back home, turns out righthand side rack bolts worked loose & rack was moving, on the plus side the new shocks have transformed its open road ability, worth the effort getting it ready for the run.

    not leaving town til @ 10, bloody english cars & their lousy oil retention abilities & tappets need doing again bit tight after retorquing head. Must remember to pack earmuffs!

    All sorted & on the road again for Ranfurly, had a quick road test got home - all the water fell out - waterpump let go, grab spare pump - wrong pump-- its for a viscous fan & i dont have room for that one to fit, chop the offending extra piece off & all good. New shockies work a bit too well, bit bouncy round town, good on open road- works great in the gravel though

    Verdict in, compression test says no.1 cylinder aint pulling its weight anymore. So looking forward to road testing the new bilsteins. Better wash & lux out escort & pump up the tyres.

    Looks like i've shot my trip (& the trip budget) to bits, might have to bring slowpoke. Avengers in bits......... again, misfire problem i cant sort, hopefully a trip to the doctor will fix it. So DONT want to take escort this time. Its a nice car but its soooooo pedestrian in pace.

    Ugly old avenger clean sheeted a w.o.f today, 2 steps forward new shocks are in - another set of brake pads to wear out................................ & a big step back. Wont steer! Hoping it's only a rack issue ( steering is tighter than before ) though i suspect left strut top bearing letting go, which means.... take out struts AGAIN, change tops chuck back in. Gettin faster at this. Fix the annoying miss its got & i'm ready to go.

    I'm planning to lower the tone a whole lot with the avenger if i can get some niggly bits & a w.o.f sorted. Otherwise I'll just have to take the rolling roadblock....... again

    At this stage looks like i'll just be up for saturday with the kids in tow. Mode of transport to be decided on the day- escorts got an annoying cooling problem, i'd bring the avenger' its gotta pass a w.o.f 1st but i'd have to hide the scruffy p.o.s under a sheet & the toyotas fixed but it doesn't fit the theme

    Hi, wondering if this would be considered suitable as a driveshaft hoop for the avenger, it's an additional factory crossmember that bolts straight on using existing mounting holes fits in the right place to catch the shaft.

    It not fixed!!!!!!!!!!, yet. tempermental starter motor or stuffed relay, 10 seconds after you drove past it fired up. Its home now, Joey has escort now its fixed- any faults in my cars & she WILL find them, (or create them) Guessing relay which means emptying 1/2 the garage to find a spare. Swapped starter the other day when it jammed solid- couldn't rock it loose. Looks like the diagnosis is........... loose earth strap! So dont piss yourself laughing too much
