  1. Have 3 suitable bells here if you need one. Would put up pic but don't know how on my phone.
  2. Went out to chat to OS member 'Frosty' today about rims and spokes for the project (and all sorts of other general sh*t). ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNND i returned home with these...............bad ass......Exactly what i needed. Even more awesome was the fact he insisted i take them home, even tho' i said i wasn't in a position to pay for them right now. Frosty goes to the top of my "GCs" list.

    Idle help.

97 starlet, 4E-FE auto' 170,000 k's. Ok, so decided to get this back roadworthy but have a small issue. Battery was flat so removed and charged, now it starts fine but will not idle. Will run fine just above idle and up. Have also noticed a lot of moisture coming out of exhaust but may put that down to the car not being used for many months. All suggestions appreciated.
  4. Seat all cleaned up. Just need to find someone that does leather "carving"
  5. Didn't work...pffffft............ I do have a deformed cap and 'filler neck now tho'. I guess the cap was weaker than the seams AND the dents. Off to find someone with one of these tomorrow.
  6. Front end rebuilt, all welding done, all "bodywork" done and all primed up. Petrol tank is in freezer full of water to get dents out. Next on list is recover seat..... And bend up some bars.....like these.
  7. Can I ask why? A few mates of mine used 'waterless coolant' in their drag cars and had no end of problems and all have subsequently gone back to proper coolant or have grouted the blocks.
  8. With the tank i've had success doing this. Put a whole heap of small nuts & bolts, ball bearings and other small things in it, wrap well with a duvet or thick blanket then put in the clothes drier on 'cool' cycle for half hour or so. You'll be surprised how clean it gets the inside. (DO NOT do this when the missus is home tho')
  9. Here's a big block transplant for ya. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1153789643
  10. FFS.......why do I not remember this shit.... Maybe next month...pffft..
  11. Making some soup........................
  12. Looks like 'electrolysis' will be the way to blow myself up......I mean get the job done. Very simple to set up but pretty wild what it does. It splits the water atoms into separate oxygen and hydrogen atoms. So no ciggies for me while that's going on in the shed LOL
  13. Thought about that but the amount of air required is the down side. My 15cfm 145 litre tank compressor will still struggle. And at the end of the day I'd rather pay someone to do a 15 minute job that would take me most of the day waiting for compressor to 'catch up'.
  14. That's a thought. Gotta couple down here. Will investigate tomorrow.
  15. Think the closest one is Rotorua. Love living in taranaki but it's times like this I miss living in a place that has lots of industry like Auckland.
  16. Odd question coming from me as I should know, being a car painter and all LOL. Need to strip the inside of rear guard on the gadabout. The metal is thin so blasting is out. Lots of crusty surface rust so paint stripper is out. The guard is 'deep' so sanding' with my fat hands is out. Soda blast is out because we only have one guy here that does it and he knows he's got the market cornered and prices accordingly. Has anyone had any luck with any other 'system'? cheeRS.
  17. Couple of fine days so thought i'd best 'achieve' something lol. Got a few things in epoxy etch.
  18. Thanks, will see what I can work out.
  19. Cheers man. Yeah was thinking a "rub block" of some description. Any ideas on sourcing such a thing?
  20. Progress is slow (Livin' on the slopes of a mountain in the middle of winter isn't conducive to shed work LOL) BUT, it is progress none the less. Hope the step son knows how to ride a 3 wheeled skateboard hahahaha.......................
  21. So before bits stopped holding hands was it a ok runner? Just hoping I'm not wasting time and foldies. Although saying that it all looks good on the inside (apart from the obvious LOL)
  22. Gotta love going in to buy bearings and seals for ya obscure 2 stroke motor that was built on 1/12/1960 in Germany and they're 'off the shelf' items.
  23. Yeah, no brakes, no clutch and a brake lever for throttle. Would've been a fun ride alright.
  24. It's a 2 speed gearbox so may take some working out to get it to shift nicely.
