  1. Would you be interested in fixing / sorting my wiring? Mates missus is an auto sparky and was going to make a new loom for me but she spat out their first kid instead so would be few months before she can look at it. For a A50 so nothing complicated (but too complicated for this retarded old spray painter lol)
  2. Yep, 'bout that much. Chopped and sectioned. Prime and paint tomorrow.
  3. First base colour teaser........Blue, green, gold and a tinge of purple around the edge of the gold.
  4. Hmmm...... I really shouldn't...... But I do have a good 110 semi auto here......
  5. Painted the frame and stripped the tank. 4 small dents in tank otherwise it's mint.
  6. Satin black wheels and bits done today. Frame and rear guard tomorrow. (No aerosol cans were or ever will be opened in the making of this bike lol)
  7. Two weeks off so time to paint some shit. Although paint colours and themes have changed again but (kinda) happy with plans now. Cut a few inches of each end of front guard as it looked a bit "long".
  8. So decided to make some progress on this (before summer ends and i miss out on decent riding weather) As purchased. Dafaq is this sh*t? Opps, it fell apart........ That's better, blasted and a nice coat of epoxy. And more bits ready to get some epoxy love tomorrow at work. 99% pinned down the colours.......but that may very well change at any moment lol.
  9. Few things sold and couple acquired. Another late '50s Mobylette. AND a Motoconfort MobyX.
  10. Maybe get in touch with them and tee something up. Would be better (read: safer lol) than just turning up. Could be an awesome weekend.
  11. I know a lot of the Bay MC guys well and believe me, I don't think you'd be well received.
  12. Yeah, please take care y'all. I've lost two good friends in "group rides", one of them left behind young kids and hubby who lost a leg in the same crash. The other was a very well known and VERY confident rider (you would've seen his V8 bike at Southwards) My sister also had her foot broken in a group ride. So just remember, YOU may be a confident rider but NEVER assume the others know what they're doing.
  13. PM some pic's and details please.

    PAINT THREAD

I commented on the lyndar stuff a week or so ago and my comment got removed. All I'll say is as a spray painter of 35 years I wouldn't touch the stuff.

It'll be fine for primer / filler. 2mm tip is big so not suitable for top coats (colour or clear)

Wouldn't bother mate, it's mainly used in the furniture and believe it or not the guitar refinishing trade now. There are far better products out there. Yes it is cheap but the quality (read the lack there of) of the finish will long be remembered after the price has gone from your memory. Yep, was introduced in the early / mid' 1920's by DuPont.
  17. Thought instead of trying to keep threads updated and starting new ones i'd just put them all in one place then update the thread as i work on one of them. So in this pic' is, 2 x Suzuki B120s (one currently running) .......SOLD Suzuki A50 Scrambler Horse mini bike.....SOLD Phillips Gadabout In a box to the right of the toolbox is an earlier Phillips Gadabout which is a "long term" project. The Scrambler Horse got pulled apart and new brake shoes and jack shaft bearings were installed along with a nice newly re-built and covered seat courtesy of Greg. Next on the list is the A50. Tried to start it but no spark and carb' leaked like a sieve so found the issue causing the lack of spark lol. So into bits it had to go....on the table then after a couple of hours the first bits are ready for the sandblasters in the morning. Tomorrow i'll strip the rims down and get them to the blasters. This won't be to everyones taste but meh.......

Would only recommend fans with sealed motors (known as 'burst proof' motors) Have seen the results of non sealed motors and paint fumes. Never ended well.
  19. Cheers, yeah still got them and have recently purchased a shit load more from a 'moped' collector Barry. Not making that lot "public" until I've been through everything, which will take quite a while.
  20. May have set you wrong on motor, after further research I've done it will/should have a three speed Rex or Villiers motor. What it the frame number? Have not had a chance to go through that stash but there is a couple of motors that may be of use.
  21. Think you need to rephrase that, you've got a shed full of bits that one day in the far far future may resemble seven bikes haha. Lol, I also have seven bikes, but two 'run' and that's only because you dropped off a runner.

Protec is now a PPG owned company which sucks as i've been a Protec die hard since 94-95 and i hate giving PPG $ but i'll continue useing Protec. Protec's Epotec is a very good epoxy. At work we use Cromax 840R for our automotive stuff and Resene 440 for our industrial stuff, both great products.
