  1. Evening. The K-wopper has been parked up until the weather is warmer & I've decided what colour scheme it'll have. It's gonna be somewhere on the blue/silver/gold spectrum. Or black & gold. And maybe some white. I don't have a clue TBH. Anyway, I've got started on a cheap & cheerful re -eleased Tamiya offering. So much nostalgia. M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage, or " Meat Chopper" as it was affectionately known. I'm going to have a bash at some battle damage. Actually, lots of battle damage. It'll be proper fucked. Wish me luck.
  2. You are correct.
  3. This is about all I can do until the thermometer gets above 10 degrees. Interim project announcement pending.
  4. That sounds like a plan, I was starting to look for excuses not to return it to stock height. That'll do nicely, thanks.
  5. Daily driving update. It's great. Done a few tip runs, etc. Very comfy & pretty nippy. I'm getting all the bits together for a Sheepers style front end rebuild. I found the original windscreen washer jets in the glove box so the blue LED ones will be in the bin by tomorrow lunchtime. Talking of LED, it's had a 10,000,000 candle power, air-cooled headlight conversion. I've never driven anything that lights the road up like it. 'Bout time too. Oh, and it lays rubber most enthusiastically. Not sure if it's an LSD, too busy hanging on to look in the mirror ! Roof rails & child murderer removed, looks much better for it. /pics of that & eyeball searing searchlights for Fred. Trying to find a replacement "Surf" sticker for the roof spoiler, if anyone's in the know..... Chur
  6. Brake pipe sorted. It was a bit of a twat as it runs between the fuel tank & chassis but in an uncharacteristic moment of being arsed, I managed to get it back into the original clips & not binding anywhere either. Wheel spacers are off which also allowed me to wonder at the lack of meat left on both the pads & discs on the front end. I'll add them to the list but I'm beginning to think I should be reporting the MOT station that allowed it back on the road for another year. I'm well up for a bit of leniency & a few pointed 'advises', but there is a limit. It now drives properly. And goes hard ( for what it is). The steering is back to being a dictatorship rather than a democracy, which is nice. It's still a little crashy with the lift kit but at least you now have a choice about which pothole you're gonna hit. I think I'll probably take the child killer off the front end, it's pretty ugly. Having spent some time under it I'm happy enough about the level of rust, though I suspect it's done its fair share of boat launching. Overall, I reckon it's a keeper. Well, until it's all sorted and Carol steals it. I'll probably keep it stock-ish, I may even bin the lift kit.
  7. Thanks, I think that'd take a bit too much explanation for my fellow Poms. I can't see either of my dawgs sitting o the bonnet for very long either. Fuck that, LN65 Hilux single cab bed if you've got space. / reception committee is waiting...
  8. Hey, Terry. Is it ok if I don't know what you're going on about ?
  9. It's broke here. The other 2 metres are mostly fine. Gonna have a shout and a swear at fitting the new one later. Also, the Devil will find work for idle hands, etc. Tempting...
  10. It's very solid, has had a few quid spent on it over the years , and arrives with a 40mm lift kit & 35mm wheel spacers. It drives great, everything works & it has 200 K kilometres. Drove it around for a day & then all the brake fluid fell out. I got underneath to sort it out & found a few more hidden issues. I then had a bit of a cow & ignored it for a few days. Anyway, back on it now. Hard brake pipe from above the rear axle to half way down the chassis is cracked, I've managed to loosen it all off today but it's gonna be a fight. Wheel spacers will be on eBay in the morning, new silicon CV boots on the way as the old inners are fucked. Possibly due to the lift kit. It bump steers like a bastard so I'm hoping the lack of spacers will help, but anticipate a return to stock ride height. Not too much crust underneath but I'll try to improve the situation. Pics over the next few days, but I forgive its sins because the Power Rear Under Mirror, electric rear screen & pastel shade floor mats almost make it worth while.
  11. Evening. As posted elsewhere, my quest for a decent, versatile, old, mile munching car of coolness ended last week. The whole point of the exercise is for her ladyship to be able to visit her ailing folks 250 miles away. The Fourtrak does the job, but slowly, with little luggage/dog space and is a bit spiteful on the comfort front. Couldn't bring myself to get another Disco 2 Disaster (despite thinking they're great), the Legnum/ Forester/ Stupid Yeti all got a look-in but being up in the air is also a priority. I'd been chasing various Landcruiser 80's but they're pretty lumpy for where we live so I ended up with this kitsch, but handsome bit of late 90's off-roadability.
  12. Ooh, gotta love an '88. I look forward to that. It's chassis time here too, though I'll probably have to shelve it for a bit as it's too cold to spray gloss at the moment. Maybe do something olive drab until the weather warms up. Added a few airlines/cables to this. Probably not anywhere near accurate. Bothered....
  13. Next one started. Not going to trash it though, I'll save the wrack & ruin for the load. / Keep On Truckin'
  14. Bored of halftrack now. / couple of outside pics for Fred.
  15. Almost done. I'm either going to take some outdoor shots inc. background, or add some figures. Also, the care package arrived from Canadia, photo etch for the 1/25 AMT D8 Cat. I've been main-lining Diesel Creek videos on YouTube so it's going to be proper fucked. / I may have to build the PBY for a bit of a rust rest // pic
  16. I decided to make the base a bit bigger as it was looking a bit cramped. On the home straight now.....
  17. Chucked it all together to get a rough idea. Soz @tortron, no slightly iffy plastic fantasy women were exploited in the making of this diorama
  18. In this context, yes. /FFS, it's like talking to myk00l.
  19. Thanks Tori, that's not very helpful.
  20. Nearly done, just trying to decide about doing figures. Just need to finish the base & tracks and then nail it all together.
  21. That'll be fun. I'm yet to feel comfortable doing the 1/25 patina so I look forward to your results. Not sure if it should be easier or harder when the vehicles are bigger.
  22. I had these masks left over from another kit. Pretty handy as they allow a bit of patina to be added unlike the decals & so fit in a bit better with my "style", shall we say... Should look ok once they're covered in shite. I'll have to start thinking about a bananarama for it next as there'll be tracks & wheels & stuff lying around.
  23. Howdy. Got a bit more done.... Upper hull done, just needs some abuse. Nearly there I reckon....
  24. Update, featuring pictures I can see as well as you. I spent a whopping 5 pounds on a set of Chi-an-eez detail brushes from Amazon. Best fiver ever. / An average workman credits his tools.
