  1. Got a brand new water pump yesterday, and a new heater core, which I was really lucky to get, considering their their getting thin in the air. I can't stand not having a warm OS car especially when winter comes around. I installed them and cleaned out the air system, it had leaves and dirt and shit in it. And replaced the internal air filter, which I'm surprised it had one.

And shit it runs 110% better now. The Mirage cools down much better, and damn that heater come winter, will be shit hot.

  2. What you need to do, is be 100% sure where that water leak is coming from, because I don't believe you.

Have a good old poke around, dry areas with rags etc and find the source of the water.

Mate i'm being honest man, I forgot to mention there's a bit of water coming out from around the pump.

But yeah the water is coming out through the bottom foot-well vents, with steam and shit.

  3. Basically what it says up there, the Mirages water pump has gone, and its sending water through into the cabin and its steaming up the inside windows when i'm driving LOL. Is that caused by both the water pump and heater core or just the water pump on its own? because it seems weird that its steaming up.

My dads old EP91 Starlet did the same thing.

Also anyone know where to get a new water pump on the cheap. gonna get it done tomorrow.

I should have replaced it anyway, it was noisy as fuck.

  4. After you get it clean,I highly recomend putting in the Risolene stop leak stuff.

I have put it in cars and watched it seal cracks in radiators 3 inches long.

You can also run it with most antifreez/antiboil brands and types.

I think the 4cyl stuff is around $14 so cheap insurance (also has fixed a few water pumps too)

    OK thanks for that.

  5. How much? (Not that we have a gilmours here)

I was thinking of getting some from bin inn.

You'd reckon that the soda would break down any mineral deposits from the water inside the engine. I've never heard of using vinegar before.

I have an engine which is going to be so full of rust it's not funny.

It was $6.42 per 5L bottle. The cheapest that was there. Plus add 15% GST.
