Bollocks Beaver.
A bit of power in reserve is always an advantage when towing.
-
Good luck with it Dane. Keen to see this thing laying black smoke and black lines.

Maybe the sign was just referring to Invercargill in general
Sounds like shit to me.

Make sure it is an iron head crossflow one though.

I believe someone on retrorides put a V8 in one of those.

Washers don't have to work automatically with wipers. That is a newschool thing.

The old Triumph six can still sound like a boganmobile when it's howling.

Princesses aren't that bad.

Haggard old six banger ragtop for me. Sunburnt desert spec. Just for playing with on sunny days. And maybe pulling the firewood trailer.

Was waiting for someone to say something like that.

I can't make it. Wifey has confirmed that she will be going to camp that weekend.
-
Still not sure that I can make it. Wifey has a ladies' camp that weekend but don't know if she's booked herself in for it.

Here's the ones I've used that I can remember, they weren't all mine. I've forgotten a few and I've not included ones that have been reregistered or were second hand imports.

'71 FS
'73 GO
'74 G something
'75 HB and HM
'78 IR
'79 JG, JH and JI
'80 JL
'81 KA, KH

'89 ON
'90 PE and PF

I have two sets of legitimately issued plates and papers for the same car. Neither set of plates is the set it first left the dealers with as it is too old / was first registered before permanent plates were a thing in New Zealand.
-
Might depend to some extent on where they were first registered too then.
-
I'm guessing registered in 1980 cos I've had three '79 cars beginning with J and dad's '80 Hilux that I got my licence in started with JL.

if anyone wishes to experience life in Ohura, the old police house is officially for sale.
Love the dinosaur frieze in the bedroom. Would definitely keep that.

An older guy I work with runs a 302 with 289 heads. Reckons it was a pretty standard thing to do for gaining a few extra horsepower back in the day. Not related to your timing question but you may find it useful.

Wagon time on last school trip meant 110-120 to keep up with the leading school bus.

Love that unguarded flat belt. Real OS.

Also, it doesn't necessarily have to be ground- a skim in a lathe with good tooling will also suffice (have done a few at work)
You'd be amazed how warped and worn the surface can become
evenespecially on an old ladies daily.fixed
