Joe, I've always thought that these things were super weird looking too. Not even sure why I'm looking at them myself apart from the price.

@ThePog, there is another one on offer up your way. Auction closes tomorrow night.
https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1418305693
Are you able to scope it out and let me know if it's any good please?

That's a point too. Cheap manual Jappas seem to be in short supply down this way though. So many chickamatics, so few proper cars.
-
Someone's chucked a bid on it. Not getting into a bidding war over it. Was pretty much at the top of my budget anyway.
-
If no-one else bids I'll let it go and see if they re-list. I'm reluctant to bid sight unseen when there is an OSGC close by to scope it out. Appreciate the offer of help @ThePog.

Looks like a motorcycle dealership. Seller's other listings are mostly bikes, only one or two other cars.

Be cool if you would. It closes tonight though. Is that doable?

Crazy, no.
Mediocre, yes.
Thank you for your valuable advice.

Rust like an AU Falcon? All concealed under fuck tons of plastic trim?
I'm also wondering why that one is so much cheaper than most of the similar ones on the tard.

There is that angle. And if it keeps going and gets another wof in a year's time it is probably still worth about the same money.

Looking for a very cheap manual car for the children to drive as five foot tall daughter struggles with my coon.

2000 Ford Ka, 175,000 kms, new wof, $800.

Someone complimented me on the lichen growth on the odd coloured replacement door on my wags at Hanmeet.

Forgiven. I had to go to wikipedia myself to spot the badge on the grille not the bonnet and the lack of C pillar vents and I've got three EAs. The thing that made me check was the radiator overflow tank. EAs don't have the same one as EB onward.

The one that is the subject of this thread is an EA2 with the 30th anniversary side badge. The one ky linked to on the tard is an EB

That's true. Just like the XC was an XA with most of the bugs worked out of it.
-
That's an EB.

How'd you manage to find one with such low ks on it? Thought I was doing well to get one with 240 odd thousand on it four years ago. Also how is it so high in the before lowering picture? Like it's lifted. Pretty sure none of my three have been that high.
-
Pretty much, yes.

Not aimed at enthusiast driven classics but at all the shitters being driven by people who don't know or care how to check anything on their vehicle.
-
Have you been able to find any numbers or codes on it that might be of use?

Plus they are removing the need to go for a MOT (wof) on any car older than 40 years old.
"oh great! no more horrible test for my old car" say the people who do limited mileage and look after their cars.. (limited mileage which also happens to be a bad thing for old cars, when often stored over winter, brake seals weeping etc etc)
IMO its a fucking stupid decision. I'll always want a system where at least once a year my car is checked over by someone else for safety! Not only does this ensure thatthings I might have missed could get spotted but it also means that every other tit out there has had the same check on their car.
What WILL happen in the UK is this. Lots of shitty unsafe cars will now head out onto the roads and at some point there will be a nasty accident. Apart from the obvious grief that could have been avoided if there was still testing, the public backlash against old cars will grow.
rant
Damn right. Although as I've said on another forum we both frequent I believe that older vehicles should be tested more often than new ones.

Does the signwriting on that L300 really say kingling?

That tractor looks saveable.
Am I crazy to be even considering this thing?
