  1. 300psi is good. You can run 1/2 inch push lock hose to all the corners. You will need a solenoid at each corner to shut in the pressure once pumped up so the car does not tip over on a corner. Also a return solenoid at the pump. You could get all fancy with a pressure controller and what not, but a gauge will be much easier and cheaper. Wire a 300psi pressure switch into the pump so it cuts out once up to pressure and shut all the valves.
  2. what sort of pressure do you need? I would lean toward an electric power steer pump also. They can pump into the 1000's of psi, and move a decent volume. The MR2 one is ok, or the opel/astra one is better you wouldn't have to pump the fluid back into the reservoir when parked, just open the solenoid back to the tank and let the weight of the car push the oil back into the tank.
  3. I'll be there. Have to run the gauntlet from now on....
  4. Haha I also.have the same story. Been doing some work in midhirst occasionally over last few years and seen it peeping out in the grass. That crazy old guy with the hair just sits around and smokes. Never seen anything leave the place.
  5. good to see you yesterday. Hope nothing good fell off on the way home!
  6. i wonder if there is anywhere we can go that's under cover? will probably be raining from now on?
  7. Sr20? Cheaper and can +t cheaply instead of getting all Roman on it and working hard for dem gains.
  8. I was told by some old barry to leave all the bolts loose and tighten them up once the car was at ride height. It was to make bushes last longer. I think it's just for those bonded rubber ones maybe
  9. can you just drill and tap a grease nipple into the steel part of the bush and give it a couple pumps?
  10. shed tour! i can host one, this sunday or monday. All you need to bring is some muscle. I need to move 5 motors, a dead car, and a car worth of parts from one shed to another. Ill supply the bbq and beers and minibike of serious injury
  11. I'm keen. Not a lot of free time but will do my best to attend something.
  12. I went from no rear bar to maybe a 20 or 24mm one. Made a massive difference. Too much for my liking and I went to around a 19mm. On a fwd Nissan. My technique was/is, come in to a corner real hot, and wide as possible. Brake hard as you start to turn then let off. Stab the brakes a bit when it starts to understeer for some weight transfer which gets you pointing the right way then apply as much power as you can without wheelspin. Works well on mt messenger...
  13. I think there are a few places you give your old gasket to and they send you a copper one. I got a quote years ago for a ca18/20 I was building and it was not that much. Maybe 200. Some joker in chch I believe.
  14. Me and Ray(ja1lb8) and Bart heading down from new Plymouth but will cut across at Wanganui
  15. some pics ended up going with hella semi sealed. not that cheap but best fit by far. before after also whipped out the drivers seat as its a bit saggy like your nanas you know whats fuck its heavy also, broken springs x 3 being the slender human that i am has probably not helped I think ill just put some plywood in there and a piece of foam on top Radiator back next week, got the kit for the brakes and some new pads as the current ones have swelled up and are jamming in the stupid english design caliper. maybe a little makita action on the front coils? the back is a bit soft so im cautious about trying to do too much there. maybe a small block. nats is only a few shed nights away for me. what could possibly go wrong
  16. cheers man, im often out and about on the weekends when the weathers nice.
  17. FIxed all the hoses, including pulling the dash out to get at the heater box. Been driving it around a bit and discovered a small leak out of the bottom radiator outlet. Took it out and tried to swap in a 330 series 260c item, but its too tall. Today i took the radiator to some old barrys at the radiator shop in town. They knew who made the core and where to get one before even finding out what the radiator was out of! So thats getting recored. Also, the brakes are fucking stupid. One day a long time ago, datsun decided to put disc brakes on their flagship cedric. They looked around and saw these calipers on cars such as ferraris, jensens, jags etc. All mid 60's sports cars. They thought that they would be a great choice. They were wrong. Took me a week to locate a caliper kit and some pads. Also, new semi sealed headlights. Tried many types of lamps until i found some that fitted the car correctly. A little flat on the lense, but they will be sweet. However they are the most expensive. FML Long story short $$$$$ hope to have it going for nats. pics then

    Old Glass Repair

Can't find the link, but there are places that can get scratches and such out. They use one of those buffing wheels on an angle grinder and progressively finer grit. There are some videos on YouTube
  19. I seem to recall snell springs being on industry road in Penrose sometime early 2000's when I was working at nuplex across the road
  20. Did you try bunta at brake and clutch? He's usually pretty well priced?
  21. Awesome work so far. Gives me the motorvation to get out in my shed. You could probably fashion some new handbrake pads out of some generic ones and a few licks of the angle grinder.
  22. How thick is your running in oil? Can have a big effect on pressure.
  23. Actually 60psi at idle is sweet. That's 4 bar. I would be stoked with that. Might have been less when you first started it due to oil gallery's and filter full of air etc.
