Waikahoa bay is one of my favourites for that time of the year. Good fishing off the point and rarely anyone else staying there out of peak. Access is either by boat or walking over a hill and it's a decent drive to the nearest shop so need to be a little more prepared than some other places.
90 mile is nice to do your own thing if you've got a 4wd. Used to camp up around Kapowairua but mosquitoes eat you alive. -

Thanks for the photos. The ends look a lot better than I thought. Any extra window rattles on the long trip? Over tightening will do that to the bearing as will not packing the bearing with sufficient grease. With the wheels are looking good.

Used to borrow this off the mother in-law when in the UK.
She had it from new and had only done about 30,000 miles in 20 years. Think they scrapped it last month.
1L was a punishing experience.
