  1. So after 6 months after my initial post about my beach buggy that i picked up, things slowed right down, and haven't done a whole lot, but i thought i'd start a new thread regardless! Back in December, i picked up a beach buggy, where the only items that were salvageable were the interior, gearbox, windscreen body and roof. Basically everything else that was metal, was stuffed, and i mean stuffed. Rust stuffed. Will post pics when i work out how?
  2. i'm getting a quote to remove the bulges, and fill the holes from dad's fibreglassing mate
  3. hey, yeah ive found a guy up in auckland with a tidy one from a 1500. also possibly have a good runner vw 1500 engine+front end+ brakes +wiring loom and other stuff, for a neat price
  4. hey man! cheers! i would, but its getting fibreglass work done on the front, and it'l be all patchy haha, so im thinking of going white with it. sorry, im good haha, theyre the best set ive seen out!
  5. Also notice the different front end? suspension setup etc. well, the body has been chopped too, that's why the bubbles are on top of the guards because the shocks sit up high. looking at putting a 1500 front end in, how it should be, and get the bubbles removed, and the fiberglass reshaped. i'll do this when i decide on painting it. Notice the lack of floor pan, the floor just fell out as i was dismantling it!
  6. things have starting getting pretty bare, with i being stripping it every day after school. finished school now, and just got the body off after getting out dr grinder on all those nasty body bolts.
  7. Thats what ive just done, just gotta try turn the crank over now by hand
  8. been sitting for two years, and locked up from that. apparently there's a oil type that you pour down spark plug holes to try crank it over? know of it?
  9. so there seems to be no engine code before the number?
  10. Tear down starts this week, when i finish school. Should be interesting, bit worried about what i might find!!
  11. when i say floor and engine, im talking about a "good" engine that would be suitable for rebuild
  12. Currently after a complete vw beetle, for about 1k area. needs a good tidy floorpan, and a well running motor. 1500 would be nice. know of anything? prefer lower north island, but anywhere in north island is cool, thanks!
  13. hey guys! I'm after a complete vw beetle, pref a 1500, that has a tidy floor pan, and a good running motor. looking for one around 1k to 1500? could you please give me a message if you know of one in the north island region, gotta find one! thanks
  14. hey guys! im new to this, so go easy! Being 15, its hard buying your first car. So many choices. But in the weekend, I scored a 1970's vw buggy, with a minter fibreglass body! for a steal of a price. The motor is siezed, and the floor pan is non existant.. Heres what it got it as, Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/41473-runts-buggy/#entry1226270
