  2. Yeah man gonna leave the sticker on i think, guy i brought it off was cool with it being left on, I'm not actually sure what it is he couldn't remember, gearbox is pretty shagged though ill be putting a replacement in at some point
  3. yeah diesel laurel in background, wasn't for sale they were still daily rocking that one lol, and its a MS111, 2.6 auto weapon
  4. Earlier this year I pulled it out the garage, gave it a wash and towed it to the local car show alongside my vauxhall. Me and my mates got quite a line going tucked out the back of the show. Hopefully more next year
  5. This time last year while overseas this triumph popped up for sale in the middle of richmond, luckily no one else seemed to be interested in it (must mean something) and i managed to get the guy to wait till I got back and could check it out. Went and saw it, was pretty tidy, rust free, straight and complete with the 2L manual overdrive. Downside, plates had lapsed after the motor supposedly seized and he stopped driving it. I didn't even bother checking the engine due to having some at home, and came back the next day with my trailer, Left quite quick before he could decide he sold it too cheap and on the way home passed a mates house and we decided to try start it. Appeared to turn over quite freely, and with some fuel i managed to get it running, but didn't run all that well. no brakes or clutch, and sounded pretty sad. Took it home as you do, put it in the garage and not much has happened since, would ideally like to drop a 2.5S engine i have from mk2 in it and get it back on the road looking original
  6. So upon going back to the old guys house i originally brought it off, turns out he had another one in front of the container in the first photo on this thread, Got shift and lift to carry it over the 40ft container next to his house where it sat for years and i was away! 1969, original black plates, reg on hold, huge external sun visor, great chrome. all the extras at the time, unfortunately the paint has seen better days and the motor and box is gone, might try rip into it one day but in the meantime I've got it at my yard waiting lol
  7. cheers, yeah i own two of them now, other one is a 69, haven't seen another around nelson at all, must have all became street stocks lol
  8. now she's all wof and reg and panelled and painted where needed. serving as a good weekend cruiser. Hopefully take it on a decent trip sometime soon.
  9. Needs a tidy up under the bonnet
  10. gave it a wash, pretty nice paint under the slime
  11. Discussion for my cresta
  12. So I got this Pc cresta locally, remembered seeing it sitting on blocks in a driveway a few streets away from my place, and recognised it as the car I used to see outside a local pie shop each day. Looked like it had sat a while now and was starting to turn green, and rusty. Knocked on the door, the owner (former pie maker) stopped using it when the business closed down and it sat since. long story short i brought it about a month later. Reg still on hold, was pretty tidy under the slime and grime, filled to the roof with clothes and all sorts. Took a day at his emptying it out, airing it out, trying to get it started and getting it back on the ground. Never got it started, was a bit brewed up, coil looked shot, distributor hadn't been sitting in the engine and it was generally bro'd up under the bonnet. flat towed it home being so close, brakes seemed to work okay considering how long it sat, managed to get it running, had an immobiliser and some wires had corrodded under the dash due to the amount of clothes and moisture in the car. Ran okay, took a bit of tuning and some new plugs fuel and the basics, took it for a drive round the block, guy i brought it off slapped a 4 speed bedford box in it, a fairy rinsed one too, no second gear and the gearstick was too big to get into first, kept hitting the dash. changed the gearstick and it was driveable. Since then I washed it, took it for a wof, fixed the various things it needed, one being the rust in the left rear quarter, got it cut out and painted.
  13. and now it sits at home under the carport, till I clear more space at work to bring it in and wof it!
  14. took it to work, tried out lowering it
  15. trailered it between houses
  16. discussion for the little lemon
  17. Another project thats sat around for a while, got this mellow yellow viva a few years ago, brought it off a guy in blenheim, supposedly his grandmas, looks like it was a one owner car once. really tidy interior, i doubt granny had the red racing bonnet but everything else looks okay, few carpark dings. still had some retirement home cards in the back seat and a disabled card on the rear view mirror. she's a yellow 1300 manual, not exactly high spec but i took my chances and drove home to nelson one week night, had sat around for a while and had stale fuel, filled it up and put a battery in it, and it actually made it back okay, got a fuel block halfway up the whanagmos, turns out it had a custom fuel line from the tank as the old one was blocked too. luckily i had my follow car, left it on the side of the road and boosted home to get more fuel and more hose. since then, i rebuilt the carb, made a new fuel line, flushed the tank, had gravel in it! New filters, plugs, leads, coil, points, new rear brakes new front brakes ect ect and took a muffler out of the exhaust, runs real good now! took it for a wof, failed on a few basic lights, all 4 tyres, rear brake imbalance (since fixed) and the battery not secured. since then its kinda sat at home, needs to get on the road when i have time! might be past the 28 days for the of re-check Photo of the day i got it, in the guys driveway with a massive battery to compensate for the alternator not working
