  1. Ok update! Managed to find a 4m and auto box in good working order, a manual steering box, automatic pedals and a 1 piece auto driveshaft! Not a bad week. A friend and i will be heading down to wellington on the Friday 10th august, stay somewhere and pick up car on sat morning and drive back. Any GCs have a couple couches we could crash on for the night? Can provide shit yarns and cold beers? Mmmm cold beer! If this sounds like you lemme no in discussion
  2. Wow yes i think it is but thats not who i brought it off. Cars in Wellington so will be looking for somewhere to crash friday night 10th August when i head down to collect. I also suspected it had passed thru an OSer because of rear sticker on window.
  3. Ok so after pissing about thinking of modifying my corona or resorting to flares i went and did a thing! I brought a ms65 toyota crown! Cars been in dry storage for 4 years and the body and interior is in really good nick. Rego on hold. While its been off the road its had another chassis swap out of a ms63 wagon as one of the old owners wanted to do a rb swap n cut it up! New chassis has been sand blasted etched n painted/sealed Car needs to be reassembled but all the parts are there bar few bits. Power steering box is also shot apprantly. I brought the car as a rolling body with no motor or gearbox but managed to do a deal and swap a slab of woodstock black for a running 4m and 3 speed auto puhuhuhu Plan is to put back together and clean it up keep nana spec for my mrs to enjoy some oldschool cruising Heres some pics before taken off the road Cheers
  4. Yeah ill take some more photos this weekend from a distance.. may even swap diff. Another reason for the flares is because im currently running crap spec 185/50 and rear is toyo t1rs 225/40. I want to run some toyo t1r 195/55 which are 10mm bigger in overall diameter and width. The tread will extend past the arch and i will fail warrants/police harrasement
  5. Heres a photo of a corona wagon Very similar flare position I guess i need to park on road and test fit and take some photos from a distance
  6. Yeah i didn't want that full arch look i just wanted to extend them down. I could go different tire rim combo but what i want would see me 3/4k with tires and i dont really want to go down that road Hmmmm decisions decisions
  7. Hey guys! So my polyurethane Ebay special flares turned up they are 50mm wide and 70mm long which hide the guard gap nicely. Would most likely run them black. Do they look silly attached to the end of the arch as apposed to sitting over the whole factory arch? Or do look the bees knees?? I have another diff which is 20mm wider each side which id run with rear flares Discussion.
  8. Just so happens my company's workshop is just around the corner and i was planning on driving to pukekohe and back with my corona to give it a wash at the workshop, will most likely be done by 7.30pm and most definitely will be hungry.
  9. Hi all Been busy with home renovations so the corona got put on the back burner. I installed the viscous fan which works well. Got the corona a warrant and being her 40th year it was only 24 odd bucks for 6 months rego awesome! Ive brought some 50mm flares so ill test fit and see how i like em. I also blacked out the head light surrounds and grille i had. I rather like it.
  10. And she's back! Started first pop too! I literally had taken the cover of her and drove maybe 5km to a friends because the front right brake piston appeared to be stuck and the brake was smoking. still bloody clean for being under a cover for 10 months in a shed! Took the wheel off and inspected managed to unstick itself so I continued to drive home with no further problems Ok so plan is to test fit some flares see how they look, the guard gap has always annoyed me a little so I would get something to try bring that down a little. I dont want to change the wheels, and lowering it anymore will just be a pain to drive. I would like to get some arches made up from steel but I dont want to go down that road yet. Something like this looks much more appealing to me though.. Once in the garage I inspected further. The front rotors were not in the best shape and finding a replacement was a no go so checked the width and all was ok to get skimmed. I also brought new ceramic brake pads. At the 2016 drag day I had a casualty and lost one of the clips that held my ramfloe filters on. I was lucky enough to find a good condition replacement its the one on right even has its tag Another minor problem that had started up just before putting into storage was a squeak after 3000 rpm sounded like a slipping belt/bearing. I removed the viscous fan as I had suspected the fan bearing was the problem which it was! 200 odd bucks for a new one wowee!! Got one sent from a mate for free will put on this weekend. Chea
  11. Been awhile since I updated but the carbs all turned up and weren't in too bad shape I pulled them all apart cleaned them up n made sure everything was working, got them all fitted and made up a some copper tubing to link em all together. Unfortunately I lost yet another Samsung s8 so no photos you'll just have to take my word for it. I enjoyed the prince up until its wof ran out in December with all things continuing smoothly before removing for carbs. Anyhow I've decided to put it back into dry storage long term until I'm ready for another crack. I've grabbed the Corona as I still have plans for it Here's some final pics And where she currently is all tucked away. There is also a prince skyline GTO in one of these sheds Chea
  12. Kumeu is always a good time! I'll def be heading down again hope weather is better than last years that was brutal!
  13. Yeah I was having a gease thru the spotted thread n saw it! man id love me some prince hubcaps although only ones seem to be in Japan for 1500 nzd plus shipping yeah nah aye i think that's a similar colour to what the original colour of mine is although I think mines more a grey blue I've seen a picture of a wagon in same colour but was over in Japan. This blue is much nicer. i have an original "Gloria" guard badge I want to get 3D printed seems this guy could use a copy too
  14. @kyteler oh real? Haha must just be the norm these days mines legal rough and ready to break down at any minute lol
  15. Cheers mate! Need to keep a drip tray in the boot for all those 50+ Sheila piners
  16. Electric ignition fricking rocks!! The dizzy must be tired because electric ignition made it run how it should at TDC without needing shitloads of advance! Would it be a good idea to try get another dizzy? Or this be sweet now it's electric? dizzy is a delco 202 later model, the electric ignition kit was for a delco so direct bolt in kit! Car seems to be running unbelievably better lots more power with no hesitation like it use to have, am thinking of opening spark plug a up a little and see if any difference again! now that she's running mint I thought it would be a good idea to grab the triple carb setup for it! Stromberg CD150 x3 2 of them had been dropped some years back and had cracked with the brass barb fitting where it threads into the carb, the bodies on these carbs are super super soft After having a good look I noticed they were cast quite deep into the carb body so I hacksawed off the broken bit leaving 5mm~ to be re threaded! Too easy you reckon? yeah nah aye. This is prince ownership, nothing is that easy. after I had em re threaded very carefully it blew the arse off the body so that's them stuffed! only very small but they wont seal so decided to go back to plan A and look for some others. mind the JB weld was previous owners attempt at the fix. box of spares... Was quite a successful day auctually, ol mate @Threeonthetree put me in touch with someone who had a set kicking about so they are currently on the courier to my place! Look to be in good nick but insure if they work or not but I plan to just swap it all over anyway as the current 3 on manifolds have been jetted for the Vauxhall 3.3 hopefully be able to chuck em on over next few weeks n make the 0-100 km top speed that little bit faster! Fun in times ahead! Discussion thread!
  17. Well well October Already!! my Samsung s8 screen broke so I lost all photos and is an update even an update without a photo?? got all the brakes sorted and managed to enjoy it more or less hassle free for a few hundred KM which isn't short of a miracle! I made it to Septembers caffeine n classics where a lot of barrying went on! Good times were had!! last sat took it for a drive and heading up a hill it died n I struggled for the next few hours fighting to keep it going, it would die pulling up to lights I checked fuel filter, checked leads and coil resistance revs were up n down it was sluggish n all round crappy. found an electric ignition kit I ordered it so that'll turn up before weekend, also have another carb I'll try. The one on seems clean enough inside but just gotta work thru it mean eh
  18. agreed. anywhere central would be fair but the closer to cbd the busier the area will be. couple sweet carparks out pukekohe. the burgerfuel out here has a sweet carpark n being in the middle of bloody no where is never full. and as I always hear in the radio "just half an hour from the city" maayte
