  1. Hammerite and smoothrite work well, pretty tough finish and lasts outside for years.
  2. No where near the turnout of other years yesterday was there Trevor ? Still some good stuff but a big gap in the middle, was expecting a full shed really.
  3. Made a pipe chick to go with the bloke I done back in March. Dem nipples.
  4. I was quite taken by a pipe guy on the instagram pics & vids thread so built one for my wife. Working out a lady to go with him now.
  5. A geezer on old minibikes.com pointed out it won't work the way I have it as the drum will spin but not the hub. I need to put the clutch on the wheel side of the jackshaft.
  6. I'm fluffing round with a kart for the kids. I am putting a clone chonda on and there is limited room around the seat. Can I put a sprocket on the crankshaft and run the clutch off of the jack shaft ? Seems like it would still work like this to me, but I have had a few great ideas at times that had a flaw.
  7. In my experience with shocks, the finish is usually pretty thin and i have sanded off any paint. The remaining paint in the lettering comes off easy with a wire brush, A coat of primer and whatever colour on top will see them better than factory applied finish. Standard masking tape round the shaft will be fine.
  8. Oh stink, got our Griffiths order today and they don’t do the caps anymore. Back to the Swapmeets.
  9. Run over them with some 800 w&d with soapy water, then a cloth buff on a drill with autosol. My wards were scruffy as fuck, so roloced them to get rid of the stains then wet & dryed them before a good rogering with autosol, came out really shiny and after a year or so have only just started to dull off. You should have arksed me when you were in this arvo.
  10. Not a bad 3 day rummage around. Got to meet some new faces of old schoolers. Bought a km48 Sachs, a bunch of ammo boxes, a nice mecjar keg, a Carter afb, a bunch of Street rodding magazines and a few other bits. Was looking for a nice original Seagull, most were around $200 to $250.00 but had odd wingnuts or Bodgey fixes. An old guy yesterday morning unloaded quite a nice one as we were walking by. Had a yabber and he mentioned the price would be around the $200.00 mark. Done the rounds and went back to see $350.00 on it, the fucker wouldn’t budge below $300.00 so I left it with him.
  11. I am coming down again this year, will stop by for a yabber.
  12. I saw and talked to Thomas and Kate, bought a dropped I beam cheap, a QA50 parts manual and a Jammin Gears magazine. Wasn't the best swapmeet but okay. That Townace sat pretty nice alright. Passed a tipped over camper van on Napier Taupo road on way home, was a bit gusty at times.
  13. Nah, bugger it all, I didn't. Thought he might have been in on it. We were wondering why we entered waiting for our turn, haha.
  14. Spent 3 days plodding the swapmeet, saw the QCR van but no old school stickered vehicles out in the club spots. Got a few goodies to cart back North tomorrow.
  15. Cool build. Is the wagon an ex Steve Hildred car ?
  16. Yeah, good guns. Used to use them to spray the caskets back in the early 80,s.
  17. Yeah, not a bad day, good temperature for walking, talking and carting shit round. Had to do a few laps to convince myself to buy a pair of aftermarket 3 1/2 gallon fat bob tanks and a single Hustler mag to go on the wall though ? Not so much old bike and model A stuff anymore, must have run out finally. Did yabber to Highlux early on too, didja sell anything else ??
  18. Have we got the date right ?? haha. Will look out for your wagon tommorrow.
