  1. A ricer 74 Galant. Didn't have the money for anything American this year.
  2. Cool wagon Ben, I've seen it on faceybook a few times. Looking good! (Its Ed from Woodbourne)
  3. Thanks for the input, I'm happy to fabricate the pipes - as its relatively easy, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything as far as the how the cooling system runs. I'm basically at the point with this car (which I assumed going in) that if it all goes together and runs well, bonus! Otherwise I'll just rip it all out and convert it back to original. Well "original". That being said, all of the hard work is done - so I'd love to see it run.
  4. Righto here we go, Proposed inlet Inlet (Block behind the water pump) : Blanked off plate on rear of head : Proposed Outlet (from head, where I believe the orginal thermostat housing bolted to) : Will run a pipe and inline thermostat and the temp sensor from here to top tank on radiator. So, is this logical and does it make sense? Like I said I blew the compressor through and obviously the water galleries are connected, so I don't see any drama not running the inlet/outlet that is blocked off at the back of the head.
  5. So I picked this unfinished Galant up off a guy in Palmerston North a month or so ago. Essentially its a 2/3rds finished project with a CD5A 4g93t 1.8L motor from a GSR installed, mated up to a 2.0L Sigma Gearbox. The bare bones are there, although there is still a wee bit of fabrication and problems to tackle. The cooling system is the current focus, I've got a thread going in the Tech section trying to figure out if what am I am proposing is correct. It has a new interior, using some evo 1 seats and a recovered fabric rare seat. Adjustable suspension in the front, reset leaves in the rear. The hotwires and toyo proxies are cool, but obviously a little wide without flares fitted - something I'd like to avoid if possible. So the list in order (yeah right) : Radiator installed and cooling system finished Intercooler mounted and piping Wire it up Replace brake lines, master and refurbish drums Custom made sump (the standard one is far too low) Cert, Warrant, Profit. All going to plan that is. A single picture to start, will take more when everything is actually tidy. Cheers, Ed
  6. Yeah mate my thoughts exactly. I'll put up some pictures in the morning. I'll send you a PM. I'm missing mostly small interior bits and a decent front bumper. Oh and the ever elusive lower front valance yellow lenses.
  7. Hi guys, I've bought a Colt Galant 16l with a 4G93t conversion partially completed. However I'm running into some stumbling blocks, and am looking for advice/knowledge on a few areas. First is cooling. Soooooo....the inlet piping on this project goes from the bottom of the radiator to the water pump inlet (the old O-ring flange end pipe). On the back of the head the old inlet/outlet has a blanking plate fitted, and the actual outlet runs from the block exit on the exhaust side. An inline thermostat will be fitted aswell as the temp sensor. I've run the air compressor through it and have confirmed positive flow, so I'm thinking there will be no issues. Now if all of that made sense, does anybody see any issues with this setup? Up next..... cam angle sensor and adjustable cams.... But let's deal with the first question if we can. Happy to provide pictures.
