  1. 12th October 2012 Ok, so I got the car back from West Auckland Engine Reconditioners as I just wanted a couple of things done (such as fitting the headers, fluid flush & new mufflers) - I ended up getting quite a bit more done in the end, here's the list: - Full lube service (engine, gearbox, diff, brakes & radiator) - Replaced the fan belts - Fit headers - Fit air cleaner - Fit new custom 2.5" straight through exhaust system - Flowmaster rear mufflers - New spark plugs - New oil filter - Air filter spacer kit - New fuel filter - New pushlock hose - New fuel house - Hose clamps - New heater hose - New fuel tank breather hose - New accelerator cable - Dyno tuned - Full tank of 98 - Adjust steering column for minimum tightness - Greased the suspension - Re-mount handbrake cables to avoid rubbing on wheels - Dismantled carburator and found water & corrosion (possibly from sitting too long) - Changed carburator jets & reassembled/cleaned out carburator - Drained & completely cleaned out fuel tank - Slight leakage from heater core to carpet, so carpet was removed/drained and hung to dry - Bypassed heater For a total of... :'(
  2. Discussion thread > //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/34566-sics-stingray Hey guys, Here's my 4-speed manual, 350 Chev, 1972 Corvette Stingray - it's had a full rotisserie restoration (put on a 'car spit' and fully restored all the way around) with matching numbers (engine and gearbox are original to the vehicle, i.e. haven't been replaced). It has only 79,000 miles on the chassis too, so that's pretty good for an older car! So when I picked it up, it had 225/60/15s all-round - far too small for a Corvette! So first thing I did was drive it down to get some 295/50/15s on the rear and 245/50/15s on the front. Here are a few shots of popping in to Nana's to show her the new ride: ...and a couple of interior shots: First lot of parts arrived - Flowtech headers, Edelbrock valve studs, Edelbrock valve covers & Edelbrock air cleaner: Engine shots (before & after): Before (but I'd polished it up a bit just for fun): After: I then took the car down to West Auckland Engine Reconditioners where I spent 'waaaaay' more than I was expecting to (list in next post!). Cheers, S I C
