Hey, as long as they do a better job than my alternative (BC/OZ coilovers), I'll be happy hell, my current factory setup is a joke, so anything's going to be a dramatic improvement
-
Haha, yeah, someone mentioned earlier that you run them, Sparkle. How's the ride quality? Close to stock?
-
I'll be in Abu Dhabi in November, so will make sure to get to race day! It'll be interesting to see how O.T.T. they go as compared with the Singapore F1

Too late, mate!
On the Fortune Auto website it says they've came first in FWD and AWD categories at Global Time Attack last year, and 1st/2nd/3rd place at Redline Time Attack series
-
Yeah, we shall see! I've just paid for a set of these Fortune Auto coilovers. I've opted for 8/6kg spring rates. I'll have them in a couple of weeks

Doesn't sound too bad at all! It's looking to be $1,750 for my set. The benefit being they are set up prior to arriving based on your requirements, so it should save money on the setup costs (I assume) you would have with fine tuning an off-the-shelf brand.

I went into WAER for a simple tune-up and came out with a $5-6k bill for f*** all work (heater core replacement and dyno tune on my Corvette). They've also got a Plymouth there that they've racked up over $120k on the engine build so far, somehow, and were being sued for that if I remember correctly. A whole bunch of other unhappy people with them as well.

Cheers guys. So being a Taiwan-produced coilover, are they comparable to say BC/OZ coilover or more towards Tein/KW?

Howdy guys,
Has anyone had experience with Fortune Auto coilovers? I'm considering having a set custom made for me, but I'd like to hear some first-hand reviews first if there are any! They seem to have some decent reviews from what I can find on Google.
Cheers

Yeah, I don't think it goes anywhere very fast, but still good to see a different approach. Here are some unedited/junk shots I scraped up of it from last year's Beach Hop
P.S. it's from Rotorua, not Palmy

Hey Noms, what car was that turbo setup in?
It's in a Challenger. Literally every part of the setup is Chinese made off of eBay, he couldn't have gone a cheaper route if he tried haha. Surprised it made it back from Palmy again this year!

Will be there, as always. I've got an exam on at 7pm Friday night though, so it'll be a late night mission down!

DKM just did my MX-5's roll cage last week. Damn fast and excellent work too.

Sweet, now I've got your sister's number

just outside the ferguson bar there's a bump. bring boards if you're worried but its not overly bad.
carpark is all go and weather looking ok so far.
Or just drive around the bump by going through the carpark haha
-
Same here, if I haven't blown it up on Saturday though there are some relatively high speed bumps, but I get over them in Skyline easily enough and other low cars make it in too, so you must be able to get enough angle to not scrape!

A couple to keep them dwindling Beach Hop vibes alive
P.S. Photobucket sucks Donkeys

So I'm sitting in the General down a side street dozing off today while no one was around when three guys walk over to the car and start complementing it... we're talking for 10 minutes when I realize one of them is Greg Murphy haha. Man, I played it soooo cool and didn't even fan girl too hard. Was told to pop in to the place they are staying to talk to their Mopar mate (who was one of the three there) about what's causing the car to cut out
Also I've been pulled over twice today by police officers who come over with a stern look on their faces only to say "do you know why I pulled you over?", "no sir.", "...to say I've pulled over a General Lee!". Then I get out and we chat and they proceed to get their photo taken next to the car lol
All-in-all a pretty bloody good start to the weekend!

Our friend Splash (dreadlock dude who is tour bus guide from Nats) popped down to Tairua yesterday on his way through with a group he shaved his dreads off, wouldn't have recognized him without the company logo

I too enjoy detailing
I bring my stuff over in bulk from the States, so I make an order every year or so (this was just over half of my first lot I brought in) - the prices Smits Group charges here for the same stuff is criminal.
Fortune Auto coilovers - has anyone used them?

The ride quality is great and it sits flat through hard cornering. On the sections where I'm usually hovering over the brake pedal as I approach, I find I'm staying on the throttle going around them now, so they are quite confidence inspiring. The only thing I need now is a bucket seat! I had a harness bar welded onto my current cage, so I'll get on to that when I'm back from overseas. I can't wait to set some proper track times now!
