  9. BRITS AT THE BEACH FEBRUARY 15/16/17/18 - 2018 FINAL SHOUT OUT! Check out what's happening at Brits at the Beach REGISTERED ENTRIES = 153 with 62 COVERTIBLES TEXT ONLY SHOUT OUT! Hello Britsers Only 11 days to go! - Please help us by sharing this email via FB or in person! This year's event will be a "Boutique" Brits at the Beach. We expected this to be the case as we just had one just 4 months ago and many of you chose either October or February to attend and not both. Again, fully understandable. The organizers chose to run two events this close to each other so that we didn't miss a whole year or more of Brits! So, if you were thinking of joining us, please get your car registered today! REGISTRATIONS - We will close off the online registrations on Wednesday night - afterwhich you will have to register in person. We have an early registration at 4pm at Williamson Park - look for the marquee! Then we have the official registration Friday afternoon at the Whangamata Tennis Club and the late registration at Island View Reserve on Saturday morning. At the registration you will receive your programme, your disclaimer (which you must sign to participate), your registration window sticker and anything you may have purchased like tee shirts, car badges, mystery trips etc. Please remember, your orders will be filed under the same name as the Paypal account used to place the order. MYSTERY TRIPS - It seems you liek eating ice creams and taking train trips. These have proven the most popular. Please remember the train ride is limited in numbers so do get along and order yours online today. We have had no takers for the Thames Goldmine trip so have removed that option! PAEROA BATTLE OF THE STREETS - We have been in touch with the organizers who have offered us discounted tickets to the big race day on Sunday for our reegistered entrants. To accommodate this we have brought forward the Sunday schedule by 1 hour, so if you want to you can get away from Whangamata around Midday. This should give you time for a great afternoon of motorcycle racing in Paeroa. More details of teh ticket price soon! 11. Get ready for the most oil leaked by the coast since the Rena! I've copied the program from their website as follows: THE 2018 PROGRAMME Friday - Grahamstown Gathering - 9am to 1pm Yes, we're heading back to Grahamstown for the Gathering and we're starting an hour earlier - Karl from the GBD Hotel has advised they'll be adding more music to the morning and a few other surprises. We have also asked for a complete road closure to ensure safety for all involved. Mystery Drives - 1pm to 4pm Yes, not one but two mystery drives. We have the "Ice Cream Run" and the "Train Ride". For those that wish to join us ona mystery drive, pay for and pick up a "Mystery Map" and head off from Grahamstown. Clues will take you on one of two fantastic drives and conclude with an 'event'. Price includes attraction ticket and/or a sweet treat! Completed mystery drive maps will be put in to a draw by lot of a major prize. Wimbledon Comes To Brits. In past years we have held our official registrations at the Whangamata OCean Sports Club, however in summer this club is simply too busy to fit us in, so we approached the Whangamata Squash and Tennis Club to see if we could hold our registrations there and are delighted to advise we were approved by their committee. So what do we intend to do? Well, we'll run an early registration on Thursday and then the Official Registration and Welcome will be held on Friday 16th February from 5 to 8pm. At the registration, we'll hold the Inaugural "Brits at the Beach One Set Championship" featuring two top amateur tennis players. There's a fabulous viewing platform to watch this top tennis game. Combined with the tennis we will also hold a "Brits High Tea" featuring the yummiest of finger foods and of course the best British Tea (or a beer or wine). The high tea will be catered by Whangamata's top caterering company. We are still processing the cost but believe it will be between $15-$20. Tickets only and those will be available on line shortly. So Friday is turning out to be a great day! Friday night we will be bringing back our "Brits Quiz" featuring loads of trivia and some great prizes. Venue to be confirmed, entry fee $5 per person, maximum team of 8 people. Saturday - Grand Parade/Tairua Day Tripper/Tops Down Run/Cliff Richard Tribute, What a fantastic day, starting with marshalling of cars for the Grand Parade, followed by the Great British Village Fete, then we head North for the Tairua Day Tripper which is followed by our "Tops Down Soft Top Run" to a mystery destination, then it's back to Whangamata for the BIG SHOW - Cliff Richard & The Shadows Tribute Show at the Whangamata RSA. We have taken your concerns and suggestions on board and have changed the timing of events for the big day. Marshalling will start at 8am, the Grand Parade at 9am, The Village Fete will now run from 10am to 1pm, Tairua Day Tripper from 1-30pm to 4pm and from there we will head off on our first "Soft Top Run" which will run from 4pm to 6pm. Finally we'll all head down to the RSA for possibly the best show Whangamata will see all year! Remember your registration fee gets you access to the Grand Parade/Village Fete and Tairua Daytripper. For owners of registered soft tops, the "Soft Top Run" is FREE! Tickets for the Cliff Richard & Shadows Tribute (featuring NZ icon 'Shane') are selling really well, so if you want to go - go here to buy your tickets. Don't delay as we only have about 100 tickets left for this show. SUNDAY 10am - 2pm We will be having our usual "Bonnets Up Car Show" and mix it with a "Show and Shine" and a "Brits Bits Parts & Car Sale" This will run from 10am to 1pm and be followed with the "Brits Job Tour" presentation. The Brits at the Beach Festival officially wraps up at 2pm. Now, if you like the programme for our first Summer Brits at the Beach, please help us spread the word by forwarding this newsletter to your car friends and family and of course, if you haven't already done so, please get registered today!

  16. Does it need to be at a Burgerfuel? Just thinking of spots with parking, there's the Cock n Bull (or whatever it's called now) in Lynfield which has a handful of restaurants around it. Tonnes of parking at Westgate for 10 pin bowling, a foodcourt, or a game of pool? Also handy that it's just off the motorway
