  1. Reasons I suggested a gsxr250 in the gn is I used to have one one for about 12 years basically I got back problems and the riding position just killed me my legs would cramp after 15 minutes and bought the fun to an end. Riding position on the gn is magic comfortable as for me (should I jump on) the gsxr250 shriek though when given a hard time is addictive so a swap would be for noise mainly, and just be a cool if a little bit odd should we do it. For now the GN125 runs great and is an excellent fit for Zach.
  2. Mixed up some chameleon green purple blue flip, went to do base coat black and gun decided to play up so I used a stack of thinners clearing it out finally got a good coat of black on and called it a day. Will let the paint harden and go at it again another day give it a light scuff more black then go colour and clear. For now Zach can take parts home it and ride it ground work Is done.
  3. Back into this thing, it's been taken over by my son @zach_munce he's put it back to stock with nice new muffler and full service. Hes basically been riding and enjoying it recently the throttle cable snapped and we are now on to the 3rd replacement after the first 2 didnt fit, so while its out of action we are giving it a spruce up with new paint for the tank and side covers. The frame is actually mint and can be left alone for now. Home-brew paint incoming.... he got the punishing job of Removing and sanding out the pinstripes.
  4. Been a unloved v6 fan I've got a blank word document ready and waiting to take notes and painful questions to ask.
  5. After some measuring and Googling ive discovered the 275's will fit under the bum but I will need some 10" rims. I'm not keen to completely give the game away by fitting some stance spec wheels so have found bmw X5 wheels are 19x9 and 19x10 which maybe with a coat of gunmetal grey would blend in with the "it's not me doing skids everywhere" theme I'm going for with this car. I could also go bigger on front too.... now to keep an eye out for some rims.
  6. One I have is a single oval jobby everything ive sat it on sounds amazing. Keep the ones you have low use factory mufflers are top quality and generally perform well.
  7. @deankdx they're just a muffler not sure whether you'd call it a resonator or not but they flow very well with little obstruction basically like an Edelbrock muffler inside very good at removing v6 "twang" Somewhere between a chamber muffler and a glass pack.
  8. Chop it drop it and big block swap it. A big block in a Mira would be 1NZFE.
  9. Side quest, can i fit a 275 under its ass? I bloody love massive tyres so picked up these cheap to see what space there is seems enough if I roll the guards and maybe trim some plastic away. I also got nails in both rear tyres going to the tip recently they have a few patches now so I doubt the tyre shop will touch them again.
  10. Did some stuff today made a manifold to fit a 19mm carb off a pit bike to the little robin engine. My first time welding cast chinesium alloy took far too long but it is together and seems airtight. Oh and it runs. Good for motivation.
  11. That's an option. I'm not running the blower so can run ecotec heads but want the option of been able to run a second set of injectors for E85 on a separate fuel system or even water injectors. I've looked at 2 sets of heads that we're for sale off an l67 and and l36 both were as chooched as mine so starting get worried about not having a top end for the build.
  12. I've got my holden/buick l67 v6 stripped down and I can visibly see some cracking around a few valve seats. Can this be repaired successfully? I have plenty of welding gear and would be prepared to give it a go if it's not too risky. Also prepared to send out if it's a specialist job if you know someone pipe up as I suspect this is a skill that may be dying out. These heads are surprisingly thin on ground as cracks on an L67 3.8 v6 is a given later in life not sure on l36 ecotec suspect wont be much better these days as the vast amount of these engines have ended up skid pigs. There are alloy aftermarket heads but $5k plus for a set is a bit rich.
  13. Why haven't I turbo'd this yet? Last year I bought myself a beautiful modern Mazda 3. Since then I've driven the Mazda 4 times the commodore always gets picked for big trips as it's comfortable quiet and pretty frugal on gas, it's also got an epic stereo. Mazda is on market soon to free up funds to hit the commodore with all the speed parts and fresh block with some goodies.
  14. Did a somewhat performance oriented modification over weekend...... mainly because I have accumulated a stack of catalytic converters I wanted to cash in thought I might as well add 1 more to the pile. Chopped out the Cat and replaced it with a Calsonic 2-1 muffler off a R35 GTR was a small amount of "3D printing" to hook it all up but it fits the space well and pleasantly doesn't sound shit and does rev a lot happier.
  15. Just spotted your Triumph clutch slave is upside down bleed nipple should be at top or there's a 50/50 chance you'll have a nightmare bleeding it. Ask me how I know........ I may stare of into the distance while I recall a Triumph with the clutch that was never right.
  16. And now I'm out of materials and need to decide what I'll build rear wheel mount out of. That's proportions it'll be though could be stand up or fit a hot seat on top engine plenty of room for either.
  17. Chopped down the old quad engine plate sat everything where it looked right nice strong tacks incase I need to shift it to suit the rear wheel location everything centred though.
  18. Nothing motivates me more than the last day of time off. So smashed this together in 90 minutes and it's nowhere near as janky as my last build started off. Joined the two headtubes together with a angled cut so maximum cross section tacked with mig then tigged it together.
  19. First time editing a video forgive me.....
  20. Remember when I built that cute little stand up scooter then got carried away and turned it into a motorcycle? Well after building 5 or so other projects I didn't throw anything away so I'm recreating the fold up scooter Go Ped style to stuff in a car boot or work wagon for smoko runs. Will be stand up 5hp and have wheels capable of going over bumps without crumbling. I'm not going to bother with jackshafts etc so the engine will just go where it needs to go,
  21. Did a 100+ ks today to pick up my gn125 my son has claimed as his so we could fit some new parts to it and give it a service. Thought I'd better check the wheel bearings they were mint but one of the tyres was absolutely dry rotted on the inside and started to deform, threw the mint spare on. Tows awesome with the 80kg of shit gone from the back and weirdly doesn't fuck my cars fuel economy as bad as my old trailer that weighed 1/3 of what this does.
