  1. I put a carbed 18RG in my RT84 a few years ago and just bolted the master cylinder straight to the firewall and ran hard lines to the LHS where I have an aliexpress vh44 booster. Works great. Think I had to fix a washer or something on the inside of the firewall to keep the pushrod located into the master cylinder. Easily done and beats unboosted brakes.
  2. Yeah the 18RG is definitely a good upgrade for a little car like the corona. My one is probably double the horsepower of the old flogged out 6R. Downside of them is finding certain parts. A lot of people that own them tend to hoard 18RG stuff and the price of complete motors seems to have gone through the roof lately. There are definitely cheaper and easier options but they do look the part and sound so sweet especially with a pair of sidedrafts at full noise
  3. Sweet Corona mate. I have an RT84 with an 18RG. Was 6R with W40 originally. Factory brake booster fouled on carbs so I just ran a remote booster. Other than that and making up a throttle cable and bracket, it was a pretty straightforward swap. W40 slave is identical to W50 for R-W bellhousing. Think I bought the last one from repco a couple years ago so if you can't track one down in NZ then rockauto.com has them.
