  1. Well there's something up in the loom, probably a short in the nether regions. Can'd be fucked pulling off the conduit and tracing it so have ordered a NOS replacement. Bonus is this one is labelled with an original mode l# and production year. Should help with revin. Fingers crossed it does the trick.
  2. Honda tech: "Oh hey you know what would be hilarious?! A rats nest of wires in a shitty little headlight bucket where connections prove a nightmare to trace!" The bike is almost complete again, just going to get a new chain and bolt on the bling bling chain guards. Stock handlebars for now as I need to re vin, easier when it's all standard as in case I need verification from the good old VCC. Tried starting it as well but the stupid bloody 2 wheeled piece of misery has no spark, checked the condenser, coil, points. No idea what else it could be. System is 6 volt, any ideas?
  3. Ready to reunite it with the bike and get the damn thing back on the road. Didn't repaint the crankcase/head etc because a] I'm lazy, b] kinda like the fact it doesn't look rebuilt and c] paint would mess with heat dissipation apparently.
  4. Yeah man through the top, getting the LCA's disconnected became a major ballache so I'll kill them with fire at some point today.
  5. Still working on this.. Worthless update but time for a bit of cleaning/paint
  6. hahaha holy shit, yeah I'm not going to risk the cash. Will hold out on the second hand market.
  7. Wait.. same compressor as a 16? So if I bought this, a 16 or equivalent motor could be chucked on if found?
  8. fair enough, what do you mean by rubbish? I can deal with poor finish/bit of messing about to get 100% but shit functionality is a deal breaker. That marquip is sweet, but after a bit of reading I'd need a 16 ideally. Have been after one for ages but they rarely turn up on the tard.
  9. Does anyone have any experience with the ingco branded compressors? Made in china, but I suppose most things are these days. Interested in this one in particular http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=867014867 Will be spraying panels, probably getting a die grinder in the future as well, maybe even a bit of blasting when there's a bit more space in the garage.
  10. Woah, I AM SO EXCITED TO HEAR THIS THING. Also, we must have e21 races when we're both "ready"
  11. So sweet man, well done! Looking forward to some e21 dorts. Why 45 webers over 40s? have been told triple 40s would be great for even a high revving m20.
  12. Yeap sold it to me. I bought the leg guard and pod from Japan & gave it a bit of a service then sold it to some guy from Waiheke Island when low on cash. Regretted it since! Glad it's in good hands.
  13. BUT IT IS A GERMAN CAR, THE ONLY CROSS BREEDING ALLOWED IS WITH AN AUDI 5CYL CHURBO.
  14. Rhd engineering in Australia is the shit for flash m20 itb's if a lotto win comes your way. Tuned, tested and all that.
  15. What are you expecting when it's done sparkle? (Power wise)
  16. m10s are a bloody pain to get power out of unless you spend mega $$ or go turbo. Can find a m20b25 for good money if you're diligent, got mine for $400. stroke it out to 2.7 or 2.8 for extra smiles. + they sound boss.
  17. Nah mate this be a fine piece of German engineering. m42/m44 or m20 all the way
  18. How far back would you be shoving the m20 in man? 2002's are so damn sweet to drive when lightweight, just concerned having that beast over the front axle would ruin the balance somewhat. You know your shit so I'm sure it'll be cash either way.
  19. Did those wrenches for the carb manifold do the trick mate? Such a cool car, best colour for it too.
  20. Actually, what if it was mounted right where the lower triple clamp is? Still hope for oversized looking cool I reckon. Would flow better if in line with tank/frame horizontal.
  21. Haha no updates worth mentioning, exams have me by the balls at the moment. Soon though. Apparently the m45 Michelins go pretty well, I got them from cycletreads. Definitely call up if you're ordering though 'cause their online stock levels are often out of date.
  22. This is so cool. Get the good man over to nats for a decent brew too many. Dem feels..
  23. For some reason I always picture old Mitsi's in some form of turd gold , so I guess it's kind of fitting. edit: also think those wheels are perfect haha GET ON WITH IT VINCE
