I spent a long time fixing the bottom of the tank but I decided it would be better to just cut it all out and start again, it was full of cracks and brazing.

Made an exhaust, tube size was very odd and all I could find was EWR tube, I had half a bend in the correct size. Fixed the bottom of the oil tank, someone had brazed the drain up because they had lost the drain plug. I still need a clutch and pimary chain caces.

That little cut out in the top of the rocker box is called "the Texas notch"

Putting the carb on an angel was a stupid idea. I realisedthe oil tank I have is a Featherbed tank with a tab welded on to fit a Gardengate frame, it dosnt fit properly and clashed with the gearbox top mount. A friend of mine is giving me an early rigid frame tank witch will look better to.

The spring and plunger on the left is what was in the motor, had a much stiffer spring that was about 3/8" shorter than a stock spring and it was much stiffer, I had about 40 PSI at 1000 RPM with this and 25 at idol. I got another plunger and a brand new stock spring rated to blow off at 30 PSI, now when hot at 1000 rpm I have about 27 PSI and 25 at idol. Thees motors were not designed to have over 30 PSI.

Yes I was just watching them hammer cranks together and then wack a big steel wege in to separate it to get the rod to move

I could say the same about them

This seems to be the only way I can mount the carb, the early oil tank won't work with this frame, that oil tank on the bike hardly fits in because of the gearbox adjuster, with the carb at this angle I can fit the oil bath filter.

Almost finished the rear engine plates, still need to file out the slots for the mag platform, for some reason the oil tank doesn't fit now and would need spacing out, I have to make an adapter for the carburetor spigotthat has a 45 degree angle on it or shorten it drastically.

I may do that, just when the little air cleaner had a paper filter it blocked up after 100 miles
