  2. OK so this has been along time coming I have pined and pined, and was finally in the position I could do something about it Saw this on goo net but was put off on account of it being noted for damage. When another prospective one fell through I asked Ewan, Shane and Jessie from Stacked to take a look given it was in Osaka. SHane had a look and thought it was a bit rough initially for the asking price, so we low balled them and deeply upset the sellers honour. It looked like bridges were burnt until out of the blue one night Ewan rang me and we had a good ol yarn and he reckoned the guy selling was doing so on behalf of another yard, and that the real sellers were a garage that had sponsored a drift racer that the Stacked admin(?) girl new, so we went through the back door like your mum likes it and managed to do a deal. Its no gem, it needs love, but it runs sweet and it appears solid (compliance yet to confirm/deny). Oh yeah and it was less than half the price most 200zr's are asking in Japan so that helps. Bit of drama today as I got it delivered home while I wait for some parts it needs that Jessie from stacked has been trawling through YAJ for me for compliance (factory high stop light, new rear lenses) as well as some cosmetic items. So I'd asked autohub to give my number to the truckers so they could let me know a day to be home, eta was supposed to be tomorrow. I checked my online account with autohub which said today (the online account is ace btw can track the boat). SO i rang them back and they said oh yeah itll be today, but the driver will ring you, I'll make sure they have your details. I was in the car to go to a client meeting and the trucky rings me and said he'd just got the email from autohub then, not the day before, and that it had already been dropped off, with key on the tyre. Needless to say I bailed from car and meeting and got home to it TLDR Pics Some I chucked on instagram care of the guys from stacked before it was shipped, ill upload some more

  3. Well. Bit of an update here. Saw a fella put up his KE25 on one of the pages on FaceBook, then the next weekend I was off to pick it up. Has been sand blasted and 80% epoxy primed. This shell is much straighter than the previous shell, though the rust patches are probably more prominent. Just little holes where as the old shell was covered in bog in areas and was all bent around the rear under the bumper. I think the new shell will be a lot easier to work on than the old one, and being sand blasted and primed means I don't have to do get it done. Here it is nicely tucked onto the smallish trailer I bought it back on. Did the job just fine And here we have the LOWRIDER KE25!! The height is atrocious for now, however I am waiting on some TE27 knuckes so can slap some AE86 struts in there Panda spotted in the background.. Dash is complete, interior is well on the way to being finished. Have got in touch with the only man for the job of retrimming my seats and getting new door cards for the old girl Also scored these interior pieces in from Japan. You'd think they were brand new the condition that they are in Sprinter air vents. Pretty much finished the sprinter conversion. Been a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I've bought some 4A-GE - KE2X engine mounts and will get the engine rebuilt, drop it in then get it going Jan - February. Much more to come, exciting times ahead. Or is the word more appropriate "Expensive". Both I guess. chat - //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/52401-pbaines-1971-toyota-corolla-ke25/

  7. And here are some shitty pics of the inners (these have been plated up/kind of mini tubbed/not really). Pictures were really hard to take due to the lighting and shitty mobile phone. Passenger side: Still needs paint and underseal Bottom/rear section feat Jaden: Drivers side: Besides this the rear brake lines have also been bent to shape. They are just waiting on having the fittings crimped by Perth Brake Parts (they have to do this so it passes ADR regulations) then that will be the brakes finished off. I'm moving back to NZ on Friday so hopefully the guys will keep me updated quite regularly and then have it shipped over sometime in January. For now merry xmas everyone and have a good new year!. 13. My bits turned up from rock auto and so did the s/h dizzy. I chucked a new coil and rotor in the dizzy along with a s/h ignitor. The cap I ordered was too small so I'll have to go genuine on that but its not too bad. threw the ht leads on and it started second try. Didn't work the first as I forgot to plug some stuff in. warmed it up and no fault codes and the rad fans cycle nicely so I'll call that a win. I've tacked up the muffler/exhaust and given it to a friend who can actually weld so finish it off. Hopefully I actually got it right. I still need to sort out the vss plug and the 02 sensor wire and I can say the engine bay wiring is good enough. still have to sort out the interior

  22. So cool you actually got one! Didn't think that would happen. So cool bro. I like the idea of 16s too. Def needs less factory wheels, and a healthy dose of "less ground clearance".

  28. Got a bit inspired today. Peeled off all the covers from the HB (after i dusted about 1" of dust fron the top lol) Hooked up a battery and cranked it over for a bit to prime fuel pump (this also pumps some oil uo and around engine before firing. Start ya bastard doesn't allow oil pressure priming). Then covered the carby intake a bit (i pissed the choke off ages ago) and cranked again for about 4secs til she coughed. Then half throttle flicked the key and away she purred. Been almost a year since i fired it up last... If i can get her out the driveway later i may go for a spin. ...

  36. will find links later on - CL50 looks like it'd be simple as to achieve. so manjy cheap high pipe exhaust options too. Tom I shal do something like that just for you me old mate! Ordered a carb spinner from aliexpress coz it's easier than making my own, and a larger bore pit bike high pipe exhaust from trademe to get me going. will fit carb spinner once it turns up then I'll be able to run legshield again, and if I like the high pipe i'll leave it and/or modify it or get hold of a large bore low pipe of some description. hopefully be able to tie intake back into factory filter etc so she'll be a lovely POS.

  37. Tridies. by Richard Opie, on Flickr Decided the 6-inch pair looked stupid so brought in another pair of 7's from Japan, much better. 165/55/14 is a bit small though. Will polish and add bigger tyres then cruise some more. These are shank nut type though so now I need some shank nuts. Blergh. Looks super cool.

  38. Building your own camper is fun , look at how happy felixx is I like the truck above because of the duals , great for stability . I have sometimes thought that would be a sensible addition to mine , and a front diff ........................ But really ,, I find my off roading is just down some shingle track or grassy paddock so the chunky tread tyres and plenty of ground clearance work just fine . If you do build , put at the front of the build consideration ..... light , lighter , less is more. My camper is 610kgs and I would do the next one lighter.

  41. So after a lot of patience waiting for the frame to be painted professionally, I decided to give it a crack. It came out great if I say so myself just need to get the tank and mud guard done when I get access to the paint booth again. Since painting the frame I put everything back together and it started first pop! I finally got my license today so was able to take it for its first 'legal' ride. Other than a few rattles that need attention its sweet. So happy with how it turned out. With still more to do, it will be a nice ongoing project to keep me occupied over the holidays.
