  2. colour is nissan people mover brownish grey metallic circa 1987. First you have to see it in primer. . Once again as you can see I used my massive paint booth...the extractor fan ( read wind)was on high which was not ideal... but tomorrow's forecast is for rain which is slightly less ideal...

  3. hi, This is the first classic car that i've owned, always loved classic Fords, especially Mk 1 & 2 Escorts... Can't afford a 2 door yet so I went for 4 door Mk2. No big plans, just running it more or less as is, there are a few bits to sort but I think I'll be keeping it as standard as possible. Here a few pics. Got it back in June, I've since removed the crappy thing dangling from the mirror and the Jagermeister sticker. Discussion thread although there's not much to discuss at the moment haha //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/41168-1980-ford-escort-mk2-13/ Here it is when I first picked it up: And a trip out to Piha in it... Anyway main plan is to refurbish the wheels as they are a bit rusty (unless I can find some period looking alloys, I love the 13x7 look but don't want to be rolling arches or putting skinny tyres on). And sort out the exhaust, something standard looking. It doesn't look right and because it points upwards, one side of the back of the car is constantly dirty. In the mean time I will be saving up for when a 2 door comes along!

  4. Today, i had a go of getting the altezza clutch master cylinder out of the way of the intake so i can try fit a filter of some kind. Started by removing the remote reservoir. Then maching up a hose tail to match the shape of the reservoir. It pushes in, no threads. Then made a plate to sit over the top and apply pressure to the hose tail. Managed to get it back in and bolted up. Will look at mounting the remote reservoir tomorrow.
