  1. So lately I've been a bit busy making bikes, here's some photos of one I have finished. There's more to come. Thanks for looking. To cut a long story short I found this picture and the bike in it quite took my fancy. I've had two goes at making my own version, the first one was to small and I just wasn't happy with it. So I started over and came up with this. It's not an exact copy, I've made changes to the height etc etc, some of I've just made up/guessed. None the less I'm very pleased with it. I have another frame I am making at the moment, I'll add some photos when It's done.

  2. So after plenty of time wasters and unusual deals, I have decided to keep the AE and proceed with the engine swap... Began stripping it down and then replace it with a silvertop 4AGE. After this I ripped the 3AU and K50 out and it sat that way for about 4 weeks. I managed to give the engine bay a bit of a scrub, it didn't come up perfect but it's not too bad. Actually made some good progress on the car for the first time in 4 weeks. Managed to get the motor and gearbox etc mounted into place. And the headers I want to buy! Will look insane in the engine bay with the trumpets and gilmers.

  3. The red car above is now owned by a friend who will bring it back to former glory. Worry not though, I have found another! It's a win win situation really, red will be fixed by someone with the skills and wallet size necessary. And I get another, in better nick all round with cash left over to 'complete' it (yeah right) how I'd like. Shipped over in '85, it's a UK Import '81 e21 320/6, 5 speed manual. Stock 6cyl means the swap I've been planning forever will be a piece of piss bar wiring, or maybe webers if funds allow etc. Best thing is it also has a full ownership history, and every owner so far has been pedantic as hell about service, so much so the service book is full of cool stamps and notes going back 3 decades, fuckin' swoooon. Speedstars are on with 185/60's /obvious. Coilovers are almost done and ready to go in, fun times. Laters.

  4. Spent a lot of time on my dads monaro to get it finished for my sisters wedding. We had it all finished and certified on the Monday then drove it to Invercargill on the Wednesday. 1600 km's return trip and it ran like a dream.

  7. Not alot to report.. Finally put correct sway D bushes in (have noticed a bit of a shudder at 100,may be unrelated?) Moved the exhaust further from driveshaft and rear chassis and still have knocking noise when slowing down..i give up Removed the OLD AA stickers in the rear windows..they were cool but they were un-tidy. Turned to dust when i scraped them off! Removed rear arm-rests for some extra back-seat comfort Ran a few lights off the dash light that worked so now have night-vision! Added a byChrysler badge on tailgate Am cutting a deal for some carpets and a fuel gauge too hopefully. Walking back from the Tattoo studio I thought id test out the camera on i-pod thing my lady gave me, since the cars clean

  8. tt132 and rt132 coronas are the same bottom platform as ra40 celicas from the skirt and rails through to the back all the bottom pick up points front and back are the same the ra40 rt132 have the bigger stub axle which doesnt flex like the ae86 1 does and also uses the 2 spot calipers on them as well can also put a spacer in the caliper for a vented disc if need be as well

  9. If you feel like you need adjusties for some reason then you would be better starting with MX73 Cressida items, BC & Fortune Auto both have kits to suit. They have the same bolt spacing on the steering knuckle as the TT132, AE86 has smaller bolt spacing. MX73 brakes are larger than TT132 and also have a Vented disc from memory. MA61 Celica would also be another option to look at. Can't remember if the Tophat spacing was the same or not, but easy to just redrill that to suit anyway.

  12. Good work. Make sure u brace that oil pick up to the main cradle or a main stud down towards the bowl end. I've seen un braced ones snap then good by motor!

  13. The winner is.... DJZ. I had no reaction disc, the peeps who rebuilt the booster must've tossed it as there wasn't one inside the booster either. I made one out of reinforced rubber, it's 5mm thick. Factory ones are 5.5mm I believe. I have no idea whether it's the correct hardness or how durable it'll prove to be. BUT, dem brakes are mint! Never been better (since I've owned it).

  14. Cert tag arrived today! In order to get it I had to remove and rebuild the rear leaf springs using the 2 sets that I had in order to have enough of an arc in them. They were a bit flat which wasnt really ideal. The rear shocks were then too short and were topping out, luckily ive got a garage filled with all sorts from failed projects and parts cars so was easily sorted. The exhaust got a wee scallop around the steering column for a little more clearance. Fuel tank was pulled out and a pin hole leak welded up. After rinsing it out a few times and filling it with water before welding, i still felt nervous watching Simon welding it.. The 15x8s and 8.5s were never going to go through with the 195s so after tracking down some 15x5.5 steelies that were 4x130 (thats right, that new stud pattern totally bit me in the arse), I had them widened to 7s, put on the tyres and POW! problem solved. After that it was a simple case of clipping hoses and cables then slapping that sucker on. OS Nats here I come! Oh yeah, its EFI, not carbed... WTF? is it likely to be an issue?

  16. Hi all thought i should do an update since it has been awhile ive only been doing small bits and pieces so here are some pics Made a lifting level bar for my engine and gearbox simple but effective Ive also been working on my oil pick up line this is what i have got so far. Clearance between the pickup and the crank photo is on a bit of and angle. So this is what i have been doing not to much progress but some slowly chipping away at the small jobs hope you all enjoy

  21. Wheels are now on the car, i replaced the rear springs with some king springs my mate had sitting in the lock up as they're stiffer than the cut springs that were in it before. I've also cut a coil off the rear springs as the king springs were a bit higher than the previous springs so the rakes all gone now. I am also working on purchasing this engine off my mate that he no longer needs
