  3. I don't have to. It seems. Broccoli has my back anyway, he'll waste anyone who disapproves of my choices. Mostly because he knows that if he doesn't I'll straight face smash a beer can from his hand to the ground and crush it in an instant.

  4. Got the cage all finished up last week, and everything is nicely triangulated. Rather than intersect the door bars, Surfab usually just bends two tubes so they meet with an overlap, which makes for a tidy X. All the suspension points are tied into the cage as well.

  14. Thanks man. About as good a chance as I've got of winning big Wednesday tonight. Although if I DO win, I'll probably be there in a 356 Outlaw The wifey's Nan lives in Timaru so I think we'll definitely be doing next years Nats. Should give me plenty of time to get everything dialled in and make it a reliable driver! *crosses fingers*

  15. Upgraded all the factory charging wiring to 4 gauge and done some extensive sound deadening. I've started on the hidden amp rack and kickpanel speaker enclosures as well. Also dropped the engine out last weekend to go over the cooling tin and heater system. It's getting there slowly!

  19. Be careful, when a compressor shits the bucket internally, the entire gas system including dryer, condensor, evaporator and TX valve fill up with a whole bunch of tiny metal fillings. Your new / 2nd hand compressor will last all of 2 mins. The system needs to be flushed and usually your dryer replaced as a minimum.

  20. Wow wee lookie here. So the GC that built this engine replaced and fixed everything for free, reckons the reason shit hit the tits was because of non hardened push rods. So will roll with it and see how this goes. Popped the visor on finally, matty bee it to start with then got gasserkiwi to paint and flake it to match the roof. When I get round to it might fiddle with a bit lesser of an angle, just where it is now makes it heaps easy to mount etc. Matte Black Caps off, shit semi packed, mustang to the hop tomorrow, no skids ok.

  21. Bit of the old shiny shiny Shiny Cam Cover 2 by SnoozinRichy, on Flickr Shiny Cam Cover 1 by SnoozinRichy, on Flickr Holy shit I just posted cellphone photos also. Kill me now. Anyway in other news, hit the car again on the weekend, had the sump off, changed gasket, installed timing gear etc and cleaned up various gasket surfaces. The radiator is off at the radiator man having a new core installed - it appeared to be working ok, but it is falling apart and 40 years old so figured prevention is better than cure, and have bitten the bullet to recondition it. On the flipside that too, will look nice and fresh in the bay. Otherwise, it's just scrubbing to do until the head comes back, and the head studs get here. Should look the part in there come Nats weekend! NEW PAGE FOR RYAN FELS! LIKE THIS!
