<p>
	Right then. What the dickens do I do about this fucken thing? Open to ideas. <br />
	<br />
	Requirements
</p>

<p>
	Reliable
</p>

<p>
	Good torque to get up hills and eat up the miles
</p>

<p>
	Decent on fuel
</p>

<p>
	Would prefer to avoid a billion wires and sensors. Just reading <a contenteditable="false" data-ipshover="" data-ipshover-target="https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/profile/5774-thepog/&amp;do=hovercard" data-mentionid="5774" href="https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/profile/5774-thepog/" rel="">@ThePog</a>'s thread on his fiat gives me a headache. But if there were on the shelf simplified loom kits I'd be cool.
</p>

<p>
	Has to fit in a rather tight engine bay. It's quite long but is pinched at the nose so a bit annoying.
</p>

<p>

<p>
	Also has a distance of about 200mm (off the top of my head but I think less) from the bellhousing to the steering linkages so needs a very rear sump hump bump.

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#080809;font-size:15px;">I have a 1974 Ford Falcon, and I'm putting on the chrome trim/molding piece that goes on the top of the door.  I'm kinda stumped as to exactly how it gets put on. I assume that's how the clips go, with the wide part facing up and the pointy end facing forward (I know they're facing to the rear in the pic). But does the trim slide on from the back? I tried that and I got a lot of resistance so I stopped. Does it get snapped on all at once by pushing downwards? Any help would be appreciated.</span>

	Bought this in chch a year ago now,
</p>

<p>
	2 litre, 5 speed, certed,
</p>

<p>
	Just tinkering away on it, still some work to do and get painted and put back together, but hey that what projects are for!
</p>

<p>
	Just gonna load up progress pics teaching myself as i go,
</p>

<p>
	Plated the rust in C pillars, sills guards, floor, new front crossmember and front panel,
</p>

<p>
	Overall it was small stuff, not in bad knick for 43 years old just starting to sand down whole panels and etch prime whats needed and then smooth some age out of it, and get it primed ready for new paint
</p>

	*Probably a better place to post this here than the build thread as i can imagine build updates will be few and far between!
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	Hi All,
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	Should probably introduce myself, I'm colin, long time fan of old cars but have been without ownership of anything oldschool worthy for about 10 years now, but recently managed to snag what appears to be a decent DR30 at auction in Japan, it's yet to show up so time will tell if it's a patched up rust bucket or a genuinely good car. have previously had a number of R30 skylines, one '84 four door L20ET, one '83 Paul newman version Coupe (much regret losing that looking at prices now), an '82 DR30 RS2000 with a FJ20ET fitted, which is now somewhere in blenheim i believe, and a red coupe we put in someones paddock for storage about 10 years ago, which we now can't find, so if you find a mostly stripped red R30 coupe near Tai Tapu somewhere, sing out.
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">

</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	Plans for the DR30;
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	-Fix whatever rust and corrosion is stopping it from getting through compliance (I know f**k all about panel repair work which is crazy consider Ive owned a number of one of the rustiest Nissans ever made
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	-Cert for coilovers, appears to have R31house coilovers fitted, this could be a rigmarole in itself, given that no welding on steering parts is certifiable, and thats what these look to be, if you have any intel on that situation, please let me know!
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	-15x8/8.5 Watanabes, looks like ex-japan is the only option, as the right offsets are to hard to find 2nd hand
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	-Facelift tails (dear god these have got expensive since my last car, if you have a set floating around at a reasonable price, get at me)
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	-Some period correct front seats, similar in style to recaro fishnets, square shape, good side support etc, open to suggestion on this
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	-Drive it! I've been to car meets with friends etc over the past few years and that is far more accessible fun as I get older
</p>

<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#353c41;font-size:14px;">
	Some pics of the car and some underbody stuff to give an idea of general condish, tried to buy a number of these, and they were all pretty rotten in comparison to this car, and for some reason this car we got for alot cheaper than we expected to pay, so i'm losing sleep over that, ah well. Yolo or whatever they say these days.
</p>

	Looking good.
</p>

<p>
	Uno turbo motors are good swap for these and make them go like stink. Common conversion.
</p>

<p>
	Smoke on overrun could quite well be valve guides which are a PITA to change on those.
</p>
