Dream build of mine! so damn sexy

Did you just have a 1.9tdi lieing about?

What are you doing with the old parts/injection ?

Old engine is sold, old engine was just a 1.6 non turbo (bit of a snail)

I bought a low milage Generation 4 Golf with a 1.9t PD engine in it. its only 100hp but will computer tune to 150, if i did a turbo and injectors it would easily make upward of 250, some and with more tickling 400hp. but will stick to 150 for now.

Thats the engine conversion i would love to do into my mk2

My mate has a 1.9 with a VNT turbo. and gearbox for sale

Ahhh good stuff! The old diesel 1.6 is certainly no speed demon.

Damn those 1.9 tdis must be hugel tunable!

Is that mikes set up for sale?

Also on your firewall youve drilled the holes for the clutch master cylinder, what one are you using?

Currently doing a freinds 1.8t swap and doing the same thing.

Hes using a mk3 clutch pedal

Mike will sell his for the right price.. his motor is ridiculously low KM thou also.

like legitimately the car he pulled it out of only had 38,000km

from experience the MK3 pedal wont work all that well without a whole lot of fucking around. cutting and welding

I have a Corrado/Passat Pedal box.

But I will look at making a simple custom setup as the Corrado pedal box is getting rarer/ and way to fucking expensive for a shitty 20 year old part.

a MK4 Clutch pedal might be a go as it is a Standalone unit,

the other setup that is good is the cable conversion hinge for the late gearboxes.. that way you can stick to the factory pedal box. but only real issue is that is pricey as f*ck also.

I have a whole lot of fucking around ahead to make custom engine mounting brackets. its not hard but just a fuck around to get 100% right.

Yea i read it was crazy low kms.

Corrado/passat boxes arent really easy to find/cheap and the guy wants it done yesterday lol

I have just looked at the pedal we have and its a mk4 :)

Yea ive looked for alternative ways but nothing comes up, cause overseas corrado/passat boxes arent that hard to come by.

Ahh didnt realise those motors needed different engine mounts?!

Good luck! I know how much of a pain that can be!

Its just a matter of flashing on the retuned file onto the ECU. This can be done over the diagnostic port.

I haven't run mine on the dyno yet but it will leave a vr6 behind. I just have a retuned ECU and 2.5" straight pipe exhaust. The only reliability issue is the clutch and front tyres

Am I missing something here?

I don't know vw's that well, but it seems a strange thing to do to put an ecm in a place called a rain tray

standard place to put the ECU on a VW. these units are water sealed quite heavily from factory.
