This build is impressive, I have heard about the things that go on in the barn but this is just plain mean.

The way that engine sits back it will handle so nicely with the suspension work, I am looking long term to do a rear set up similar in my Beams Starlet.

The MK1 was one of the best looking cars and this has just made it look even better :)

Yea i hope so, hard to know what will happen building a car all in one hit based on theory rather than doing it bit by bit with races and testing to see where improvments need to be made.

This is one of the reasons ive spent about 10X as much time reading about suspension and various design things and sitting looking at the car deciding on the best plan than i have done actual work on it

One of the things im quite interested to see is how the low rear roll centre feels to drive. Because when i was having discussions on the turbosport forum with an experienced race car builder about the low rear rc, he said that it can end up feeling wrong to amateur drivers so they dont have the confidence to push hard enough to get the lap time gains that are there for the taking.

But thats why ive made everthing as adjustable as possible. If i get a few sets of springs there is a lot of scope for fine tuning.

I was originally going to keep cable handbrake for cert reasons so I got a pair of ae92 calipers for the rear but now I'll just be running hydraulic handbrake so the ae92 ones aren't really suitable now. I've heard of people running escort front calipers on the rear with reasonable results but I'm not sure if I'll need something a bit better to get good brake balance.

The pedalbox I brought came with a 0.625 for the fronts, 0.7 for the rear and 0.75 for the clutch. I havnt looked into weather these will suit the ap's yet or not.

Naa I don't know what it will weigh. I'm hoping not too much.

I would have loved to use more aluminium but I can't weld it and my ghetto as bending techniques won't produce as good results as I can get with steel.

Once it's nearly finished and I take it up to chch to tune ill run it over the weigh bridge at the dump and see if I need to put it on a diet. If so I'll cut out a bunch of stuff and chuck some alloy at it.

Again a bloody beautiful piece. I see you like to mix your bourbons BIG. Nick, who built your cage, poured me the most epic bourbon like that one time. I ended up putting my phone into it by accident.

Good job and keen to see this doing massive skids.
