Stoked to see you sold the Simmons, hotwires are a step up, but everyone has them and I don't think you can beat the SSR mk-iii you had for this thing ! They would have looked the goods !!! Still an awesome build dude, I will keep watching out for updates.

Also, for the screens, give my mate Jeremy from Bespoke Auto glass a ring, he specialises in glass for pre 90s cars, runs his own business etc. http://www.bespokeautoglass.co.nz or 0211616831.

Cheers mate. Glad you enjoy the build progress. I scored a new rx2 coupe screen $200 so that's sorted thanks. I will tell mates though about his business..

The mk3 ssr s were cool but just didn't look right dished for some reason. I wouldn't mind a set of Longchamps down the line 14x8....

Engine bay getting primed this weekend with some help from my mates. My laying of bog has a lot to be desired albeit a thin skim.

Sold the simmons huh!!?

Agreeing with most on here that 17's would look too big on the coupe.

Hotwires should look pretty good on there man!  I'll have some longchamps in my possession soon, you'd be welcome to test fit them to see what ya think

I'd LOVE some 14" x 8" Longchamps or 15 x 8s....dream wheel.

The old hotties should look the part for now anyway - jeez they have been tidied up to perfection.

nice!  yep they'll look good on it for sure, there used to be a red series 1 coupe from Christchurch i think that used to get about with hotwires on it.

Yep 14's would be ideal, mine are 13's, but beggars can't be choosers with 4x110 as ya know.

Paint for the engine bay getting purchased today. Will lay the first few coats of filler primer this week hopefully.

Dash all mocked up and fitting sweet, now to tidy up the welding and gloss black it in there.

Diff and brake set up back this week also - getting new bearings and seals for the LSD unit so that it's all mint when bolted together. Looking for a 4.4 ratio rx7 crown wheel gear set now as the 3.9 is not that rad.

Wiring harness getting measured up this Saturday and Adrenaline R exhausts purchased yesterday.

Bits I recently bought:

Adrenaline R 4 x resonators and dumpy

Davies Craig Electric Water Pump

Custom radiator and oil cooler

Fuel rail and AN fittings

Coupe loop pile carpet and underlay (underlay)

I'm getting the quad throttle body intake system custom made to suit my injectors and velocity stacks. The manifold will be fabbed by Stephen Dean Performance out the wild wild west of Auckland.

I'm sick to fk with sanding the engine bay, so hopefully soon we can shoot some sunrise red on it.

merry xmas

Hey what grease did you use for the door mechanisms? The doors in my 79 Corona are really jammy and i think i need to sort that

I just scrubbed them and then liberally spread standard grease on them and worked it in. Bit of CRC also on the other joints - prob should have greased them also.

The vertical door rubbers may be not helping you too - replace those also and it should be sweet.

I got myself a Phils Rotarys RX2 coupe rubbers kit and it came with all the pedals. I had the small bits passivated and just rust killed rattle can'd the body.

Passivating really does make it pop esp against the black. It's a relatively cheap procedure and cleans up your bolts etc too.
