Guest robs30m
Ive been using black guard rust converter and primer to coat the under tray area, chassis, and the back of the cab. Welding on deck rear piece, then light brackets and plate bracket this weekend. Ive found some quila decking timber to line it. Been cleaning up wiring too. also derusted and converted the brake booster area in the engine bay, must of had a fluid spill as paint was gone. Guest robs30m
Machined up new steel bushes for leaf spring shackles. There were tired nolathane ones in the rear, and after reading in manual that stock ones were steel , Decided to make some , had work mate turn them down, then i finished on my mill. OD is 22mm, ID is 16mm, lenth is 56.5mm. Fitted nicely with new spacers. i used conical spacers so they had less contact area with bush and shackle. They are a press fit on spring and mount, and a loose fit on shackle. New bushes old versus new (fronts were still origional steel) fitted on shackle to check finished tool i made to press originals out, also use parts of this to adjust draglink. Guest robs30m
few pics! took her for an offroad trip, with a mate, decided its going to be the last heavy trip it does, took me so long to clean all the mud out of her, to get her mint and clean again. its to rare to use for heavy offroad. looking good though i think!!!

robs30m
so have sorted out clutch issues i had, all the linkages and clutch slave cylinder was worn. sorted that out, plus flushed system, feels nice now. you can remove a large inspection plate and see whole clutch and flywheel assembly, without removing box. today i cleaned up few rust bubbles along top of windscreen, sealed it up with silicone and applied a foam rubber strip to act as an isolater between the windscreen frame and fibreglass top, also did this to base of roof where it blots down, its alot quieter now, less rattling and vibration. trying to get stuff sorted for the first OS Tauranga meet on the 5th of june. looking forward to it!!!! I was going for a lod school kinda look ie old farm truck, and im happy how it looks. didnt want the the deck to outdo the paint!
