mattj
Yeah it's a pretty good feeling now that it's running especially after talking so long to get to this point. Pretty glad I stuck with it as there were a few times that I thought about selling it. Anyway the next step is to get it on the road but my motivation is pretty high now to get it done
Halky66
First drive awesome, sounds like you're almost there now Matt well done! Looking forward to hearing how you go with the Cert now, I'm still keen on a set of your flash CNC steering arms when they get the official tick of approval.  Good luck.
mattj
Hey Kelvin, yep getting really close now. Spoke with the certifier last week and will start the process in the next week or so. The bump steer test is one of the first things happening so will know shortly if they are are all good.
yoeddynz
Is it still mullet man doing the test ?
mattj
Ha ha no unfortunately neither Gavin or Barry can do it as they can't do some of the mods on the car so i have been talking to Marty Jones who comes down to Nelson from Palmeston North and hopefully he can sort it for me. Otherwise I will have to take it to Christchurch. Either way I will get it sorted

Valiant
Hi Matt, I've just called in to talk about your other Anglia. I think the Escort front end is the way to go just watch though the steering shaft sits into the engine bay quite a bit and you will have a crooked steering column unless you want to make an expensive double universal mid shaft. The sway bar ends up in a odd spot too it wants to be about 25mm below the chassis (from memory) Also if you want it to be real slammed the lower arms will end up pointing upwards at a moderate to medium slammed position. None of these problems can't be solved. On another note Classic Ford posted your film of the RX Anglia running on FB, I saw it the other night.
mattj
Hey Pete, cheers yeah I heard that the video of my car was doing the rounds. Pretty cheeky that someone would find it and post it up there but that's the Internet for you, I turned up at work and was told about it yesterday. It is a really shit video but from looking at the comments people seem to like it. As for the escort front end that is all useful stuff so thanks for that, I am surprised to hear about how the bottom arms sit as the mount point on the crossmember is higher than the anglia one so I guess that must be all in the position of the stub axle relative to the ball joint. I will hopefully get the crossmember in this week some time then will get a better look. I guess that was why you notched the chassis rails on yours right? Valiant
Yeah that's the one to  get the arm at a better angle, it also put the sway bar in a better position. In saying that  thoughI haven't written the book on it.
anglia4
I'm pretty sure you just drove past work... Â If so, I guess that means you got your cert? Good stuff. Â The car looks and sounds great! Â If not... just ignore me.
mattj
Ha ha yeah, cert plate arrived yesterday, wof and reg sorted today, and I will never drive it in the rain again! Not because I am precious of it but there was seriously a 25mm deep puddle on the floor by the time I got home!
