MichaelJFox
Discussion thread > http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewto ... 18&t=31407 I'm a build thread slacker, I still haven't made one for the MK1 Golf (I've had it a year and done heaps haha) But this I picked up yesterday, and am in love with. Fresh WOF/REG. Needs cert for lowering. 2 inch narrowed beam, drop spindles etc. New shocks. Whole new brake setup, lines/mastercylinder etc. Recond' gearbox from the states. So I'm just waiting till' I've got the spare coin again to; get cert, replace window seals, and roll. The drive home was awesome scary. These things steering is a bit of a guessing game. Went passed a bunch of cops as well, somehow no hassles. Can't figure out the youtube coding. ^ my old man asked for a quick vid. Will get some better photos up with progress. MichaelJFox
Pointless update. Went to buy something from the super market this low as sadly she's being raised tomorrow (by like 20mm) so it's better to drive untill I can afford shorter shocks/cert. MichaelJFox
Went to the StanceOff in Highbury yesterday. Here's a few photos with her slightly raised till I can afford new shocks/cert. Thanks to whoever took these, have just pinched from vask/facebook. Was anyone from here there?

MichaelJFox
Friend of mine brought a KE20, thought we'd go out for a dort around Mission Bay. Discussion; viewtopic.php?f=18&t=31407 Edit; also getting adjustable spring plates so I can dial in the rear a bit better as it's just too high atm. MichaelJFox
Alright. Well; Since I posted last I have had the gearbox out and pulled to pieces by Jamie to adjust the reverse so it would stay in. Which now is all perfect! And brought a rebuilt 1600 Single Port running a slightly hot cam, so now it moves a little better. The day after those went in I took it for a 7 hour drive, only hitch was an HT lead flew off. Now just getting my funds back together and adjustable rear spring plates! And the quick video edit; hSJ0BH7YE7g

MichaelJFox
Currently in storage with no WOF. As I went for a cert, but new camber laws have caused me a fair amount of grief. Buuut seeing I haven't changed any factory rear suspension components as long as I keep it above 100mm no worries. No one can come up with 'factory' camber amounts either as they weren't stated in the books so who knows. So I'm getting the front narrowed adjustable beam through a cert hopefully next week. Fingers crossed as this thing is taking me to beach hop. Also, lowered more before the attempted cert haha;
