For covering guard holes etc you can get little stick on chrome trim bits to cover them. kinda look like wee chrome coffin badge shaped things. Might have some around

Any luck ? got me interested now that i might be able to remove my mirror without looking horrid.

The only use for mirror on my esky is to check myself out while im driving haha

haha makes sense, gotta see how cool you look driving it aye!

but as my first car, I think I should have mirrors that I can use so I don't crash it so we are gonna source out some original mirrors now probably.

I think having no mirrors on side makes better driver as you check your blind spot all the time instead which is better view. I never had mirrors on my old first cars and till this day I still dont use the shitty side mirrors on my new cars... blind spots a bitch!!

RX3 for your first car... Damn I'm envious.

MOAR pics in build thread please.

Keep up the good work.

Pretty intense first car but I've worked toward it, literally.

Cheers, will try get more pics tomorrow to add to the thread.

thats actually quite an interesting way of looking at it. would definitely force you to be more aware of everything going on and would be especially useful for getting used to the roads.

Cheers Chees- Karl said you and neo went to check it out. Will definitely let you both know when its complete.

Could only find one.

Couldn't find the side marker backing plates, they'll be out on the farm.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have a part number somewhere for Toyota fender mirrors that look real similar to the JDM Mazda fender ones at a fraction of the price. Somewhere..

If you though your RX3 badge was expensive, Genuine JDM RX3 fender mirrors will cost you a kidney, and only if you could find a set.

Great looking car by the way, I love white RX3's and personally I think Hot Wires are cool (would be even better if Bridgestone decided to re-make 330 Eagers) and if you go for a set of decent tyres on them you will end up with some decent grip. From memory I used to run 205's on the front and 235's on the rear, but that was back in the day when Bridgestone DID make eagers.

Also, I recently bought a Pillar mounted arial for mine from OZ, it's a repro but you couldn't tell the difference and I think I paid $25 posted, which was pretty good I thought. And it's chrome and shiney! (you did say you needed one right??)

Yea Eagers would be sweet for the RX3. We hav a set of 205's from the Escort for the hotwires once they are painted.

Would be interested in where you got your aerial from as it looked very tidy on your coupe.

Also get a build thread of your 808 up on here so I can oggle over it after seeing it in the flesh. :D
