KIRK
to get the paint off quick get one of those 3m or similar strip disks for your angle grinder/drill. I did bmx like that then clean it good with that max/grease remover stuff then one coat primer and 3-4 coats of spray can paint and it came out looking mint. better than any powder coat finish I've seen but less durable. clear coat would prob help. to adjust your hubs you should go buy a cone spanner from bike shop. cost like $10. they'll explain how to use it when you buy it. lowlancer
As a side, I got my entire frame (far bigger than this) blasted and powdercoated for $80. I've done the painting thing and it never turns out as well, and also is a cunt generally. Allowing for your own time, probably not much more to coat it and get a way better finish. Mine is awesome However, if you're le mans spec at painting and patient, then you'll probably be sweet.
felixx
Hi guys.. Kirk, I used the 3m sander thing on my drill.. looks good. Lowlancer: I thought bout powder coat but got a dose of cant be fucked driving to hornby-itis Gave it a rub down with soapy water and rinsed off Given 2 coats of paint by brush.. it looks fairly good so far. Will give it another coat tomorrow. I use this bike for riding to the dairy etc so doesnt need to be factory lush. TBH the hammerite goes on fairly smooth, just doesnt give the hammered finish I was expecting. It is a metallic green similar to the original green. BlownCorona
i find sometimes these hammered paints, will go more hammery if you paint it and let it dry somewhere pretty hot. i know wrinkle paint certainly works that way.
