Snoozin
14's for life! I've got 195/60/14 which aren't too balloon and have no real bad scraping issues with my 230.
Dato Fiend
Your 230 looks bloody nice with that wheel/tire combo, definitely not too "ballooney".

Snoozin
I um, am considering selling a set of 14" August Feroce, 6.5 wide from memory.
D1RTY6
I um, am considering selling a set of 14" August Feroce, 6.5 wide from memory. I allready have 14x6.5 long champs for it but i think ill just find some 15s as i think they suit it better Cheers though
D1RTY6
Right, now to decide on some tyres for these bad boys i used this site and calculated that 195/95/14s would give me around the same rolling diameter Any opinions/qualms on weather the 195s would be suitable? (i realize that the lvvt says i cant run them for cert purposes)
durty
This is a 15 but same rim width, tyre width and profile. looks pretty huge and balloon

mlracing.co.nz
Maybe a fruitless exercise but have you tried to put another gauge (aftermarket or otherwise) to see if it's a gauge issue?
tim13
agree with trying a different guage mechanical if possible (infared thermometers are also good for checking which bits are hot where blockages are etc) , if guage is electric can also be voltage related , regulator , alternator etc
Muncie
Mystery Overheating. 2 things I'd suggest hook a multimeter into the dash circuit into a clock feed or something and monitor it on a drive if it varies wildly it could definitely give you your up and down readings. And secondly get your timing and vacuum advance checked the dizzy in my triumph was poked and gave me similar problems.
d.p.n.s
Agreed dickie gauge ..if you had a over heating problem normally the gauge gets hotter when stopped at intersection... Not get colder in seconds...
d.p.n.s
If its over heating with thermostat in with in a 100m ......to me that does sound like a head gasket...
