Popular Post crustywhip
Got my home boi home and onto putting it back together. Kayne has done an awesome job, so many details have been put into the car its becoming a pleasure to put back together. My personal favorite is the color between dash pad and windscreen being a paint match to what was factory tan instead of the colour of the car.
Popular Post crustywhip
Spent some time on this over the weekend between jobs. Kayne came over on friday to fit panels and will align when the bonnet goes on next week. All the lights are now fitted and now working on the inside which is almost done. My dads been pining pretty hard and has detailed the badges which is pretty sweet. I will get pics of the exhaust while im fitting the gas tank as thats next.

Popular Post crustywhip
Still doesnt go but have another sweet grill and did some suspension joints and bushes. Coil overs are out as low cars are cool but a right bitch to work on when they dont run. New rear screen rubber is on its way from japan and I got a couple sedan ones if any one is keen. Also getting some mirror bases made to allow for curvature of the guard. This will eliminate the mirror droop often seen with these.
Popular Post crustywhip
Shizer it's been a while and cringe at my old posts. Anyways, I chucked a blanket over this and shut the garage while I did other things for a couple of years. Lockdowns meant pulling the blankets off, I got it running on the factory intake so was motivated again. Rear screen rubber in, stainless trims fresh and polished, random clips from russia and its now airbagged using accuair control with airlift struts. It drives well around the hood and I'm slowly getting more confident on going further. I never drove this car so was a big moment. Next on the list is sorting my rear wheels as they are a bit wide for frame laying and then a bespoke itb manifold from Mr Whitley tune. Pic courtesy of Simon when it was picked up a few weeks ago. Il take some when I get the trims back on. 44
Popular Post crustywhip
Decided to get another 2 mesh wheels in the same sizing as the fronts rather than barrel swapping my 9s to 8s. Intake manifold is in design stage and I've had a few sneaky shots and it's looking tasty. Got the one mirror base I had scanned and a bunch of new ones made, super happy with result and just waiting on a mounting plate before they can go back on. Been driving it heaps and it's so good. Had a family party for my birthday and after some pressure from the kids I dropped a garage skid dressed as the blue wiggle. Gave the interior a wash and it's come up primo. Plans to get out the the next welly meet if it's local and there's no coppers about. 49
Popular Post crustywhip
So I got to do hoons around manfeild with the Circle Jerk Crew a week back. I expressed some interest, they said sweet so I wrote a list and got into getting it ready. I drove it heaps leading up to the event (not legal and seen lots of cops with no issues) and on the day the alternator frizzed itself and i thought we were done. Thankfully @Flauski made some calls and we found a replacement and got it sorted and back out. Car went well with speedo touching 170kph (how accurate this is I don't know) and eventually the brakes got spongy and power steering squirted under the bonnet. Drove it to and from the track and even got a lap in around feilding. Was good seeing familiar faces and meeting others from here and else where. 43
Popular Post crustywhip
Waiting on intake but ended up booking the wiring in and will deal with any changes as they come. Ventured out to Autofest in feilding a few weeks ago with the family. Witnessed the Holden catch fire during the Friday track cruising session which was wild especially having my kids in the car. Cruised to and from the event with my boys and enjoyed being able to just do what ever. Gave skid lane a nudge with max revs and little smoke. Cars going so well and looked the part with addition on fender mirrors. We are moving to New Plymouth at the start of next year for 12 months so unsure what il do with this. Still not legal, still don't care. 31
Popular Post crustywhip
Cars currently living in Feilding while we are away in New Plymouth till January 2024 (thanks @Flauski for housing my whip). Recent purchases are some Recaro seats and @Jeffs_Emporium steering wheel. Upcoming event at Manfeild in June with the Circle Jerk crew. I'm lucky enough to be able to drive to and from the track so nice and easy. Drove it from Welly to Feilding at the start of the year with zero issues and max smiles. Pic from Foxton. 26
Popular Post crustywhip
Went to Feilding and got to hang with me main man @Flauski Had a curry and some beers. Wanked him off while he was sleeping. Popped into the MG Classic and had a fizz over the cool cars. Drove the Toyota out to Apiti for a feed. Waved to the local cop, twice. Parked the car back in @Flauskished. Returned home to New Plymouth on Sunday. The only thing missing from a perfect weekend was someone/anyone wanking me off. Till next time @Flauski 15 1
Popular Post crustywhip
Back home in Porirua. I picked up another set of wheels that are looking pretty schmick. Recaro seats are also in after drilling one hole in each of the factory Toyota runners. Exhaust fell off on the way to Shannon but easily fixed with tie wire.
